Goldrush Getaways

Goldrush Getaways is a SCAM!!! They are very clever sales people. They hype up a supposed product that really does not exist. Fly by night characters like these skirt the fine line of ethical business practices. Each supposed ""Free"" trip is already paid for, many times over when you actually pay to be a ""Travel Agent"". Yesterday (6/10/2015), I went to Goldrush Getaways's office in Citrus Heights to cancel my membership. To my surprise, they did not give me any hard time at all even though I am an Asian. The staff were courteous and helpful especially Jeff and Tim. They canceled my membership without any questions and returned all the money I paid. I got a very good deal when I signed up the membership last week. Unfortunately due to some personal issues, I cannot do it this year. Hopefully I can join the membership again in 2016. I am writing a review because I could have been a Gold Rush Getaway member/Agent. I went to the presentation and liked what it had to offer. We where given several options and we had finally agreed to a final sale Price which would be affordable for our budget. We where offered a price of $3,990.00 as a membership price(waiving Admin fee and 1st year Annual membership fee). In selling this offer they offered us to pay as followed:\r $200.00 to 02/07/2013, $400.00 02/25/2013, and 03/21/2013= $1000.00 for down payment.The guy explained the remainder of the $2990.00 would be financed in house at 0% interest at $108.00 a month. That is what sold me to move forward. When we got into signing the papers I realized on a contract they where making us sign that they would be charging me a 18% interest rate. I explained that he told me earlier that Iwould not be paying interest. He then proceeded to tell me that he can do 6 months no interest and anything over he has to charge the 18%. I told hi more

Do Not use them if are not white! This is not for color of people they are racist & lie.\r \r I had an appointment yesterday April 26 in Sunnyvale and Joe Moore told us to leave after we completed the application and showed the prove need to see.\r \r The meeting was scheduled for 4pm and we arrived 15 minutes before. For your employee to say late is very wrong and few people came after us did entered in the presentation but denned us that is racist / lie. Next time tell your customers we allow only White no people of color because some group of white people did came after us and entered the presentation! \r more

My wife and I have done business with GoldRush Getaways since 2004 and will continue to do so. The sales presentation we received at the outset was thoroughly informative re business operations and potentials benefits, which, like Pastor Scott, also allowed us in that 3 day rescission period to consider the pros and cons of membership. For us it was a no-brainer. To illustrate, presently we’re engaged in an on-line instructional academy with Princess Cruise Lines which will pay huge dividends in future travel adventures for ourselves, family, friends and business associates, a number of which are also GRGs members. We recognize there exists at any given time various levels of dissatisfaction with all businesses oriented to service. To date our experience with GRGs has been far and away positive. more

My fiance' & I have friends in the Bay area who told us about a trip they got from Goldrush Getaways, plus more. They told us to contact the person who originally contacted them about the grand opening events in San Jose, since we were planning a trip that way, so we could get the same. They said it was worth the call, and just do it. So, we did. We stopped in San Jose, while on our vacation to San Francisco, to see what Goldrush Getaways was about. We could have easily talked ourselves out of this, and so glad we didn't. This actually ended up being one of the highlights of our trip, since we got everything we were promised, and ""now we are looking forward to using our Carnival Cruise, and to also use the 5 day/4night island getaway to Jamaica."" :-)\r The presentation was actually interesting, and they weren't pushy. We didn't sign up for any special offers that day, although we wanted to. We'd much rather travel at their costs rather than ours, so we do look forward to reconnecting in the future to actually take advantage of their savings.\r For now, we're going to just enjoy the trips they gave us, and we are so glad we listened to our friends. I don't know of anyone so gracious as Goldrush Getaways in giving all they do and saving money too?!!!? Definitely Worth it! more

I scheduled a presentation at the Citrus Heights location and when I checked in they wanted my credit card. I explained to them that I had a repalcement being sent to me, so I didn't physically have it on me, but I had the card information to provide them with to check if they needed to. They actually turned me away after making the drive to be there at 10:00 am!! Seriously, why do they need my credit card?? What a waste of my time..I can't believe they actually turned me away!! It's better I didn't go because my husband HATES these scamming places anyways.. more

Wow! Honestly...I got a vacation to Hawaii for Two for $99. I saw a promotion on a sign and contacted them. Didn't know it was a travel agency offering this so I decided to take them up on the offer and attend a short 90 minute seminar on travel. My husband and I travel yearly and love Hawaii! The seminar was fantastic and very informative. We have been to several timeshare presentations and this is nothing like that. no pressure to purchase anything! We informed our neighbor about this promotion but it turns out they are already members of Goldrush and love it. I didn't join Goldrush this time but would definitely consider it when my finances are better. I am looking forward to my Hawaii Vacation! more

Goldrush Getaways is the Best! It really works! An amazing vacation where I saved so much money we were able to upgrade everything. Awesome I use my membership every time i travel and even locally. The deals they had for Hawaii are out of this world. We could never afford something like what they gave us. The photos of the waterfall were excellent and life lasting. We have decided to go to Hawaii in 2012 again. They also gave us some great info about all the condos we can stay in when we go. more

Just went to a luau the other night at Goldrush. What a blast. I have not used my membership in a long time. Still, they invited us in, fed us some awesome food. All this just to show us some of the deals they had for Hawaii. After listening to one of the member testimonials we have decided to go to Hawaii in 2012. Went reluctantly for presentation over 2 years ago. My wife made the decision to buy. No problem, she used her money. Have used the condos 6 times now. Mostly the last minute deals. No complaints. Way cheaper than a hotel. Have taken 1 cruise. Took some friends and actually got a commission check back from Goldrush. My wife kept that though. We are taking a trip to Maui in December and staying in a two bedroom condo on the ocean for about $600.00 not bad... more

I got a call last week to go pick up a gift package that I won at the State Fair and I was surprised. I thought for sure this was a Timeshare Presentation even though the lady told me that it wasn't. When I went, there was a nice presentation on a big screen tv & they were professional. I didn't buy anything and I still got all my gifts and left... I think it was worth my time to get 2 free trip certificates and $200 in food cards. more

We were referred into Goldrush by our friends. We booked 3 cruises in the last 5 years. I have not got all my money back yet but thats my fault. We need to travel like our friends. They do a big group fire, police officer cruise every year. I am very happy with the service and prices I have received. We retire in 2 years and will use it alot more.\r \r Oh yea... The only thing I can complain about is the free trip we got for coming in. It was hard to get all the dates because of my work schedule. It did finally work, but it was a very short trip to vegas and the hotel was not the best. \r \r In all fairness though, I understand we would have got that trip whether we joined or not. more

My wife and I have been members for about 7 months now. We have only used it once so far. The condo they got us in Tahoe was very nice. Also very affordable. I guess most of the people that were using the pool at the resort were timeshare owners. From listening to them talk about what they paid for their timeshare and all the dues and fees they were paying, we got a much better deal. We have a cruise booked next year through Goldrush and it is an exceptional value. So far so good. more

You've already wasted too much time on this but if it stops you from making one colossal mistake by paying these thieves you are at least only out of a bit of time and not your hard earned cash. Don't get sucked in. Use the net and shop around. When you find a great deal thru a 3rd party, call up the resort yourself and tell them you are willing to book today if they sweeten the deal you already found online. This is a commissions based system so they are willing to go lower if you can back up your claim of a cheaper deal. more

I just talked with a customer service person and booked a seminar. She told me the reason why they are sending promotions out in the mail for free trips is because the internet has taken all of their business and they are looking for customers. She said nothing about wanting my husband and I to sign up to be travel agents... Thank you for all of your reviews. I will be calling back and cancelling immediately... more
