Genesis Day Spa & Salon

I moved to Sugar Land last summer and had put off trying to find a new hair salon because I was afraid I wouldn't find the perfest stylist! I decided upon Genesis Day Spa & Salon because of its great online ratings and location, which is so convenient for me to get to. I had decided at the last minute that I'd HAD IT with my hair and something needed to be done. I called that day to get pricing (very reasonable) and to schedule an appointment. To my surprise I was able to get in that same day and without a second thought I booked the appointment! My hair stylist's name is Josie and I cannot say enough great things about her! She is kind, sweet, professional and not pushy, and best of all does a wonderful job taking care of my hair (which I am very attached to, by the way!) :) This has been a wonderful experience and I am now getting ready to go in next week for my third appointment with her! I have not experienced any of the other services this spa offers, only the hair salon, but I have heard very good things about Hong and the owner. I have definitely found a place I will keep coming back to! Thank you so much Josie! ? more

I am a 55 year old man and avid cyclist. I am comfortable with my masculinity. I do get my legs waxed and I can tell you for a fact that these Ladies are professionals I was made comfortable and the place was clean. I am a commissioning manager offshore so I am all about details. Genesis will get my bussiness from now on. I count myself blessed to know them. Oh by the way the price is quite reasonable. after reading a few bad reviews about this place, i was reluctant, but desperate after having to walk out of another place because of bad service. am i glad i did...it was fantastic!! fortunately i was able to get a same day facial. the front desk staff was excellent, the environment was cozy and warm, and i can't say enough about Hong; she was a delight! the price is a little steep, and i usually only get facials every 6 months, or longer, but i loved this place so much, i'm going back for another facial treatment next month, and i can't wait!! more

I've been plenty of places to get my eyebrows threaded.. each time they have turned out terrible looking. I made an appointment with Sunny... Thank you sooooo much... Everytime I go I love them. more

My husband surprised me and my sister with a great spa treatment at Genesis! They are very friendly and where willing to work with our crazy schedule request as we wanted to come in and have several things done. Staff member on the phone made sure we got exactly what my sister and i where looking for! if you are looking for a good place to relax this is it!!!!!! more

I had a baby 9 months ago, and with that beautiful baby came daily bad hormonal break-outs around my mouth and chin. I have been going to Sonnie for my eyebrows for 20 years!..and while there Anita suggested I schedule a ""Light Therapy Facial"" to combat the inflamation and roughness. (Mind you I have tried EVERYTHING) Well, as the 5 stars say, run don't walk. Three days later I will say my skin is 99% cleared!! and on top of that, my entire face glows! did I mention I have tried everything? Like movie star glow. more

I am new to this area and was introduced to this salon by a friend. I have received excellent service at every appointment. Sonnie did an outstanding job on my first ever eyebrow threading treatment and Kathy gives an Awesome manicure and pedicure. I will continue to expand on services here to see all they offer. more

Worst salon ever. Always have to wait, act like I'm annoying them when I ask a question and charge you for EVERYTHING. The last time I was there it took 2 hours for a mani pedi. Are you kidding me? I can get a quality mani pedi in the hood for $30 The ONLY reason I go there is because my father in law keeps getting me gift certificates, but I got my mother in law to come in on my side and they finally got me a gift certificate at a wonderful salon near my house. NO MORE GENESIS FOR ME! Good riddance. I hated this place. I think the 5 star review are written by employees or the owner. This place is awful. more

This place is great never have to wait long periods. Sonnie does an excellent job with the eyebrow threading and not to mention Hong does great facials as well. I am always satisfied with the customer service at genesis and everyone there is very nice and helpful. more

I've been going to Sonnie for over 10 years and wouldn't change a thing. She always knows which service is best-suited for you, whether it's your skin or hair. I've seen numerous clients try services elsewhere just to come back to her to have it corrected. If you've never been there, you don't know what you're missing! more

I have been visiting Genesis for 6 years. My boss would get me a gift certificate for Christmas yearly. The staff is the best. I have had manicures, massages, waxes, and piercings done there. I love Sonny. more

I have had several facials and massages at the Genesis Day Spa and I would like to say that I have always had great service. I particularly want to recommend having a facial with Hong. She does an excellent job and I always leave feeling relaxed and glowing. I have had a high performance facial several times and while the mask is ?working? Hong is not resting, she is massaging your arms and shoulders, neck and head. I do not know why people talk about being charged different rates, the prices are quoted and available on-line and have never changed from that when I have been. more

I called late on a Friday and wanted to get in on Saturday for a spa day treat for my mom and I. The Manager I spoke with was refreshingly friendly and made some adjustments to their already busy Saturday. The manager called me back said she had set us an appointment at 11 am. When we arrived the staff was very warm and accommodating and they thought it was great that I had surprised my mom with this spa day. My mother had a manicure, pedicure body scrub and massage. I had a manicure, pedicure, facial and massage. Sarah and Debbie do the Man and Peds and they are awesome. They are very sweet and are in fact mother and daughter though they look like sisters. They took there time and did a lovely job. Next for me was the facial which was done bye Hong. She was fabulous and I was a huge skeptic at first. I am a guy so I figured what the heck do I want a facial for! I was wrong! not only did it feel great to have it done but my skin looks awesome. I am out in the sun often and the facial took all of the red out of my face and balanced my color. Hong is the best and I will be going back monthly for this service. Up last was Sherrie who did my massage. It was great. She has very strong hands and does a nice job getting to the heart of those muscle aches. In short my mother and I had a great time that started off a wonderful weekend. Thanks to all of you at Genesis you're the best! more

Me and my wife love this place. We have been going there for over a couple years now and i can honestly say Its very professional and well kept spa. My wife agrees with everyone that Sonny is the person to book when it comes down to getting your eyebrows threaded. Mrs Hong works miracles on your face. When your looking for a top quality facial shes the person to book with very nice and very professional. My wife sais the massage therapist there is the person you wanna see if you need knots and stress relieved doing all types of massage shes made up her mind on who she books with. Book With Richard not only are his massages just amazing i found him to be very respectful and very professional and unlike most people he has a very positive attitude and will make you feel like you've known him your whole life. When it come to nails book with Jada just starting out she still showed promise and wasn't nervous even though i caught her on her first day. One thing is for sure Genesis is not just a day spa it is the place where the workers do not just act like other people looking to make a dollar they are more like a family. So when you wanna feel comfortable and relax with great people and outstanding service Genesis in the place to be. more

I am a spa junkie, and have been fortunate enough to savour spa treatments around the globe! I am not afraid to pay the high price if the services are woth it. Therefore, believe me when I say this place is over rated. Just because a place looks like a luxury salon it does not it is one! I agree Sonnie is the best eyebrow artist in threading! However; you have to plan way way ahead to maintain eyebrows by her! Everything else in this salon is plain average! The service in general is very commercial and non-personal which is a big turn off in the area of spa business. Women step into a spa to be pampered and feel special; especially if the salon claims to be a ""spa"" and as such charges spa price!! Moreover, you can't help notice the inconsistency in pricing, as the owner conveniently avoided posting a rate chart. Instead has a dingy sheet dangling that claims you can be charged any amount upon the discretion of the service provider. Bottom line: If you have ""difficult to shape eyebrows,"" and don't mind planning way way ahead in order to book Sonnie and Sonnie only, and don't mind the inconsistent price, this place may be right for you.
