If I could give 0 or negative stars, I would... DO NOT BLINDLY GIVE YOUR TRUST - ask lots of questions!\r \r Although this center has a nice facility and appears good on paper (such as claiming to only hire staff with degrees in Early Child Development), do your research and check into their violations. In 2009/2010, they hired an 18 year-old male with no childcare experience and a criminal history who then assaulted two little girls while working there. The majority of the staff employed there at the time of the assaults have left and there has been constant staff turnover since then. The owner has no concern for your child's welfare, only for her financial bottom line, for example, accepting kids for two days during winter when the building had no heat or electricity, only closing when parents called authorities to complain. Read more complaints on the DHS website and ask to see their licensing notebook, which should contain all complaints and violations issued since 2010. more

Love This Center 3/27/2012

Love this child care center! Both my children were with them from Infancy through Summer Camp. Very low staff change, same kids everyday in the classes, educated staff, educational and fun activities. Staff tries to go above and beyond for the kids. When my kids went into Kindergarten they were very prepared for "big school".\r \r Highly recommend this school to all family types. more

My son went here until I was laid off from work (he was around two years old). We were not very pleased towards the end with the care he was receiving and the center had really seemed to have gone down hill. When I return to work I will look elswhere for care for my son. more

Gateway 8/27/2010

My daughter attended Gateway from the age of 12 weeks to 22 months, they were wonderful with her. Her stage of development compared to other toddlers is above most, due to the teacher / student ratio. I would highly recommend this daycare to other parents more

UPDATE: To Scott R. Who stated there was a molestation at the school. This is not proven. ALL families were notified IMMEDIATELY. I have a letter proving this. And I have an updated letter about the allegations. ALL FAMILIES are notified continuosly if anything happens. Do not let an allegation deter you. Nothing has been proven. I stand behind the school and support the school. My son is proof that they are truly caring. \r Now onto my review........Gateway has cared for my son for over 5 years. I trust this school with my sons care. I have been VERY happy and made to feel very secure with the care and education my son has received. From what I notice, it has maintained the majority of the teachers/care givers on a long term basis. I have referred a few people to this school and they have been very pleased as well. I will use them again for another child and would recommend them to anyone who is looking for a high quality school/care for their child. more

My experience 8/22/2010

Moved my child to another daycare center after attending Gateway for 2 years. Best move I could of ever made. This center is average. The teachers are caring but no where near the caliber of the teachers at my childs new center. My child has grown so much at the new center in every way. We were pleased with the infant care at Gateway however not with the toddler/preschool care. Very unorganized and chaotic with a lot of turnover. We pay a bit more at our new center however worth every penny. more

Your child is just a number here....particularly a dollar figure. They have many amenties that are wonderful for the children, but if you have problems or issues that need resolution don't expect management to do anything if it means cutting into their pockets. more

Excellent care for your children 8/8/2005

I recommend Gateway Country Day School. I was very impressed with this school after visiting some horrible "preschools". This school actually provides a school-like environment for your 3-4 year old, unlike many of the centers I visited which were just basically day care centers. They offer many extras including lunch every day, 3 snacks, field trips, a carnival with moonwalk during the summer, train rides, etc. The list goes on. Every classroom has two computers. They teach Spanish and sign language- even to the babies. Even though my children are older, the infant room looks wonderful. Every time I pass by they are stimulating the infants and they are being held and played with. The staff is friendly and loving, this school seems more like family than a business. It is also reasonably priced in comparison with other comparable programs. more
