Garage Doors Etc

I am an American Homeshield customer as well and they sent out a company over 4 times to fix my problem. The company could not resolve my problem and the tech made me feel like I was crazy. Thank God for Garage Door Etc. The tech actually looked at my opener and told me it was a bad curcuit and he placed the order for it. He truly was a GREAT tech and a problem solver. Most importantly the problem was not in my head, it WAS the garage door opener! more

I too am an AHS (American Home Service) customer and had this company out to fix my garage door opener. On the first visit...they came out made a couple of adjustments and greased the track and told me my garage door opener was fixed. Collected $60.00 AHS service fee and left. Two days later...same problem. Called them and they couldn't get out for a couple of days and when they finally did, they said I needed a new motor. I was told it would take a day or two to get the motor. Well, that went into 2 weeks and no motor. I called them and got yelled at by their phone person who promised to call back in 30 minutes (never happened) and left me no recourse but to call with AHS and have them deal with them. They have not been very responsive to AHS with information and now it has been almost a month and I am still without a working garage door opener. AHS is now getting upset with these people and may take some action. GARAGE DOORS ETC is by far the worst service company I have ever dealt with. NOTE - AHS is a Home Warranty Company and they are great. I don't know what I would do without their assistance in this matter. more

My garage door backup battery started beeping, so I requested service thru American Home Shield (AHS), as we have the garage door covered. They sent in the Garage Doors Etc technician. After checking the garage opener, he confirmed the battery should be replaced. He said I need to pay my ahs co-pay (60 dollars), otherwise he will not be able to order the replacement battery. After a week, I got a phone from ahs saying the battery is not covered. I asked what about the money already paid - they said it went to pay the technician for a ""check service""... I called Garage Doors Etc and they say the money went to ahs, and if I want anything done, I need to pay for the whole thing all over again. I guess I will pay, but surely not these guys. Cons: scammed me out of 60 bucks more
