Almost 12 years ago when I started seeing Patrick (to handle the grief over my mother's death), I was sarcastic, angry, impatient and cut off from my feelings. I was in a bad marriage which I stayed in because I didn't think I could live alone or that anyone else could ever love me. After about 8 years of intensive therapy, I was a totally different person. My husband and I separated amicably. I am much more patient, hardly ever sarcastic or angry, in touch with my feelings and the happiest I have ever been in my life. I can handle problems that come up now, whereas before I felt helpless.
