Frida helped me with my proposal to my girlfriend. I asked the waiter to stick the engagement ring deep inside the platter with tacos beneath it. They were more than happy to help...

Worst

they suspected me of carrying a bomb and dragged me all over, and kicked me out the restaurant. Frida restaurant sucks don't try it! They suck in determining if I'm a terrorist o...

Salads are disgusting 12/19/2008

Inconsistent. I have to say, I was impressed by the restaurant setting, service and food (amazing) at the Frida in Glendale, then when recommending it to a friend, I proudly took her to Frida in Beverly Hills, which was a joke. The setting was fine, but the hostess was grumpy, and we ordered salads recommended by our server which were absolutely disgusting. Don't order the mexican salads whatever you do. more

The Finest Restaurant In Beverly Hills. PERIOD! 6/3/2008

It's no contest -- this is the best place to eat in Beverly Hills and, for that matter, all of West L.A. It's very charming, yet not SO ridiculously over-priced like a lot of places in B Hills. You get what you pay for, and that's saying a lot. Starting with the service..........I eat here a lot, and they take very kind care of my wife and I everytime. But I also notice they pay the same terrific service to everyone who walks in, which is the way I think it should be. We tend to go on weeknights because the weekends get pretty busy, and the service is terrific. We're greeted at the door by a smiling young woman (beautiful, too, I might add), and escorted to our table. The waiters and waitresses take extremely good care of us, and no matter what we order, it's going to be the most tasteful and delicious mexican cuisine you'll find anywhere. Whoever bashes this place is either clueless, or goes through life impossible to satisfy, and inclinced to criticize everything they encounter. (Yes, you know who you are.) I've been coming here almost weekly for four years, and have never left disappointed. Pros: Charming, candle lit ambience; great service; oh, and did I mention? -- DELICIOUS!!!!! Cons: Nada more

authentic mexican flavors 5/29/2008

this is my first review ever, i am a regular frida costumer and im always pleased with the food. The ceviches are great, my favorite is the shrimp ceviche, and the desserts are the best you have to try the sponge cake and the cajeta crepes. The service can be a little slow, but no big deal. I will definitely be going back.\r more

The WORST in customer service!!! Avoid wasting your money...Don't GO! 4/16/2008

My husband ordered an entree and an appetizer to go. It took over 45 minutes for the food to even come out. We live 5 minutes from the resturant. He got home and opened the containers of food. The appetizer (a sampler) was ICE cold. The enchilada plate was missing its rice and beans which is supposed to come with the entree. I phoned the resturant and spoke to the manager (a woman) who was rude and told me to ""just microwave it"", and for the missing parts of the entree which I asked to be delivered since we don't live far she told me ""we don't have any delivery"". So I asked for a refund (unfortunately my husband paid cash for this $40 dollar meal) and she told me they do not give refunds. What type of customer service is this? The resturant screwed up and they will not take any responsibility for the meal that we paid for...CRAZY! I will never go back, I will never refer friends or family and I hope other people who have bad experiences keep writing bad reviews so no one else will waste their money at Frida's! more

Food OK, Bad Service 2/11/2008

Not much to say, pretty much the same as a lot of the reviews, OK food horrible service. If you can get your food to go, do it. Because it will not be a good dining experience. Oh, not that authentic atmosphere either. Pros: OK food Cons: Horrible Service more

awful service! 1/15/2008

I went in two weeks ago like at about 8:30ish. The place was clearing out when we got seated by a very nice hostess. The chips were good the salsa was good until our waiter arrived. We ordered our drinks and waited a ful 15 minutes in an almost empty restaurant. Our waiter disappered for another 10 minutes until we spotted him chit chatting at the bar. We flagged him down and we finally ordered. The food was very good. My Margarita was not. I had the frida Margarita? I dunno but it was purple and not good. Overall my first experience there was awful, But I shall return and give them a second shot Pros: ok food Cons: awful service more

Delish 1/9/2008

Frida's is a regular spot for us. Its consistently delicious. Servers are friendly but can be slow. I love everything on the menu...mole and cochinita pebil tacos are favorites. Salsas are delish. Margaritas are strong. Try the Tres Leches cake. Pros: Helloooo....the food and drinks Cons: limited seating in bar more

BEST SALSA EVERRRR! 1/9/2008

The food are Frida is mighty good, but the real reason I go is the Salsa!!! THE SALSA IS TO DIE FOR!!! There are 3 plentiful kinds , some roasted pepper one, the green one (MY FAVE) and pico de gallo!! The lunch menu is insanely cheap for the amount of food you get too!! I love this place am glad that I work and live walking distance so I can eat it a bajillion times a week! YUMMY!!!! Pros: salsa, service, drinks Cons: can get busy, food is good but not GREAT more

Best non-fast-food Mexican in L.A. 1/3/2008

Fresh ingrediants across the board. Understated but elegant presentation. Everything is amazing from the guacamole to the carne asada burrito, the chicken fajitas, the cheesy chorizo appetizer -- once you've tried their food you'll wish it was this good everywhere. more

I hate Mexican Food but... 12/18/2007

I had a steak here, don't remember exactly what it was but it involved truffles and some sort of cheese (it's probably the only steak on their menu) and it was Delicious. Otherwise, I don't like Mexican food at all so I'm not one to judge the other entrees. Pros: Ambience, Yummy Cons: Expensive more

you pay for the location not for the food 10/18/2007

because the interior of this restaurant looked cozy, the location is beverly hills and the reviews impeccable, i expected to be blown away by the tortilla soup i ordered at frida, like i was when i had my first spoon of sonora cafe's complex tastebud tickler - yet, frida disappointed. \r there is no hostess station, so you just kind of walk in and wait awkwardly: we did luckily get a nice window seat, but the romance was disturbed by the blaring pop music that did not suit the idea of mexico nor frida kahlo. my tortilla soup tasted like melted pork rinds, instead of something resembling even the delicious soup i get at el cholo's. my shrimp ceviche felt like it was drenched in maggi sauce and my sangria was a bit on the fruit punchy side. i was not impressed after having passed this place numerous times and seeing it always busy. the price tag was kind of outrageous and the service was lackluster. it almost felt like there was a chef who designed a five star menu one day, but couldn't manage to follow through on the execution of his mind's plan. pass. more

Great food, good atmosphere, average service 6/25/2007

I went on a Friday night with 3 other people for my birthday dinner. We had 8:00pm reservations, and were seated fairly promptly at a nice table in front. However, we had to wait FOREVER for everything... drinks, refills, our order, our food, our check. We didn't end up getting our food until after 9:30 and had to ask for everything we needed. I understand they were busy, but we still felt it was on the side of unacceptable. The food was wonderful, though, and good drinks, too. Even if the service was slow, it was courteous and friendly at least. Overall we had a nice time. Pros: great food, friendly staff, wonderful ambience, easy parking, clean bathrooms Cons: very slow service more

Absolutely Delicious Food 6/23/2007

Absolutely Delicious Food. Not the normal Mexican food that you expect. Try the shrimp dishes and the ribeye tacos. Good service too. Pros: Delicious Cons Cons: Sometimes you have to wait a little more

Best Mexican Food I've Ever Had 2/14/2007

Simply the best mexican food. The service is exquisite, I felt like a million bucks the way i was treated. Small and romantic, candle lit dinner. Valet is available or you can park around the corner. I recommend this to everyone. You'll will not regret it! Pros: Service, Food, Seating more
