Honestly- I wasn't very impressed with this salon.
I would like to say that the staff at Fresche is very friendly. The location is nice and homey in a very cute part of town, but not a very convenient location for many, at the same time. Immediately as you walk in, you are greeted by the receptionist and presented with a vast array of cookies and teas. - I have to say this is one aspect Fresche definitely got right.
Now, I'm not going to bash all the stylists, because maybe I just ended up with the wrong one since there seem to be lots of great reviews. I'm sure some of the others do great work, but this review is based on the person that I saw at the salon.
I had walked in wanting some highlights and a base color. I have darker hair and had gotten some base color at another salon prior to going to Fresche. It was fading and showing the coppery highlights, which were faded old highlights basically under the base. I had specifically told my stylist at Fresche that I did NOT like the coppery highlights and wanted a medium brown base (noticeably light- not dark brown) and some blonde highlights on top. I basically just wanted to get rid of the coppery highlights which were showing and wanted a fresh look which is why I wanted the base color too.
Anyways, my first complaint was how long it took. I literally had a morning appointment and didn't leave until 5pm. I wasn't even given a full highlight- this was just a partial. Okay, so I wouldn't mind the time as long as the results were good. However, unfortunately for me, the highlights came out orange. The base was darker than I had wanted, but I thought the base was pretty. I wasn't happy, but I'm the type of person, I don't like to make people feel bad. Especially since that girl who did my hair was a really sweet girl. I told her that I will probably call her after I see what my husband says and how I felt about it.
The next service I got, which was on the same day, was a haircut. I just wanted to keep what I had, really, but wanted majority of the splits cut off since I tend to pick at them. Well, unfortunately for me, the coloring service took so long, plus they had an event at their salon later that day, so, I felt like my haircut was really rushed. I mean, especially for the price I paid for the haircut. I've paid less at some other busier salons and have gotten lots of time and attention to my hair. I went home and looked and sure enough, still TONS of split ends.
So, as expected, I called back the salon to reschedule a redo. I told her that my hair was too orange. I had shown her a picture of a celebs hair in the beginning last time, and it was nothing like that. I didn't mention the cut, because I really did not want to push it, even though I probably should have said something. They were really nice about it, especially the girl that did my hair. Normally you would expect them to turn into a total monster if you told them you didn't like it and wanted it redone, but she was really calm. She tried to tone it to change it into more of a brown tone, but honestly, I think it looks worse now. At that time, because of all the lighting in the salon, it seemed okay but I wasn't bouncing up and down happy in any way... When I came home I just felt like crying because I had spent so much money and gotten a result I wasn't happy with. It doesn't look horrendous but it's not what I was looking for and I still have lots of split ends :( So I feel like I have to go to another salon to get my hair redone.
However, like I said before, this doesn't mean their other stylists are bad. I'm sure there are some great ones in there, but this is just my experience with one person.
Pros: Nice friendly staff, cute location
Cons: the services
