I visited your location on I-10 and Waco today and it was one of the most unpleasant visits I've experienced every. First I ask for their Fifth Wstd quote, unquote and ask to substitute a thigh for something else willing to paid the difference the young lady said ""No"", got it the regular way and ordered pepper with it I was charged 8.20 did not get my pepper and the chicken was not cooked fully to the point where it made me nauseous. I threw it away and would never go back, except it was one lady there that was really nice her name was Bernadine. God bless her.I didn't get any compensation because I was already at home when I realize how horrible the chicken was but when the others were being Ghetto this lady stood out.\r more

I call to check special and price on a 30 piece of chicken, wings and legs. what I don't understand is them telling me to call back in an hour they were changing shifts, well if the customer didn't buy the chicken they wouldn't have a shift to change when all it took was to give me a price and than I was going to order for a party the next day but that sell was lost and I will not go to that French's any more. Scott location in Houston. more

Frenchy's use to be one of my favorite places to eat but now i feel like i can not afford it. The prices are outrageously high and it seems like the chicken has gotten smaller. more

Editorial review from Citysearch 8/6/2012

I am completely and utterly disappointed in this establishment. I and my family have patronized this business for years. But as of 1/08/2012, I will no longer be patronizing Frenchy's Chicken. more

It's Not What It Used To Be, Goodbye 3/19/2012

I love tasty delicious fried chicken wings. I used to love going to Frenchy's to get my wings. Not anymore. It's true that their prices have increased so much that now I just pass the restaurant on the way to somewhere more reasonable. Whatever the reason for the price hike, I just don't care. Frenchy's is history. A faded memory of when the food was good and the prices were reasonable. I was about done when they charged extra when you didn't want ice in your drink. WTH? These restaurants are going crazy. But I won't be going there with them. more

OMG...this price hike is unacceptable 1/6/2012

Look I know we are all facing challenging times but this is totally unacceptable. This price hike is rediculous. I urge the public and loyal customers of Frenchy's to boycott this chain. I personally love their chicken but I be darned if I'm going to pay 8.99 for a five piece wing dinner. I thought 6.99 was too much but oh well. Then today I in their story to see this sign posted annoucing their new price structure. Basically they have increased pricing by 2.00 per order. what the 0)*&)^&^(^%*. Customers let show our power by boycotting Frenchy's. At this rate they obviously feel they own us instead of the other way around. Boycot...boycot...boycot! more

Frenchys if you wanna Choke! 10/27/2011

Went to the Frenchy's on Scott. There were lots of people around so I figured that the chicken would be hot and fresh....WRONG!!! I got the 5pc wing dinner and the chicken was so cold and dry if it had not been for the strawberry soda I would have CHOKED! I asked for extra seasoning for my fries and I got NO seasoning for my fries and to top it off the peppers they gave me were so small I could not even use the juice from the pepper to moisten the dry chicken!!! For more than 8$ they will not have to worry about me....I passed up Popeyes for this horrible mess!!! more

Yummy Fried Chicken 9/3/2011

Very good fried chicken, some of the best I've tried. The sides are tsty, but here, chicken is king. more

Frenchy's at 8110 Kirby Drive 12/20/2010

I love Frenchy's Chicken and although the locations on Scott near TSU/UH and inside of HEB are better tasting than the Kirby location I have never been dissatisfied with the food at Frenchy's on Kirby until today. This evening I went to the drive thru and ordered a King Special. I only live about 10 minutes away so there was definitely not enough time for my fries and chicken to be cold. When I tasted the fries they were cold and greasy and appeared to be halfway cooked. The chicken was also cold and tasted like it had been sitting out all day. I was very disappointed and have to agree with the majority of the people who say the Kirby location is not as good as either location on Scott. more

The Best Stand Apart From the Rest 6/9/2010

This is the BEST chicken I have ever eaten. Please don't change a thing. The sides are awesome. When I come back to Houston, that is the first place I want to go to eat. Makes me feel like I'm really at home. more

New Frenchy's on FM1960 4/7/2009

A new Frenchy's opened recently and I ordered red beans & rice (dry and tasteless), shrimp etouffe (good), dirty rice (tasteless) and chicken (thin battered and greasy) . Very disappointed in veiw of all the raves. I'll take Popeye's and KFC over Frenchy's any day. Pros: Etouffe Cons: Chicken is greasy more

THE BEST FRIED CHICKEN EVER!!! 11/25/2008

I live in Tomball & I will drive at least once a month to get this chicken or every time I am in the area. Puts all other fast food chicken to shame! A must try!! more

Gheto fried chicken 11/18/2008

As a UH alumni, I tell you this is a Houston institution! Yep, you'll wait a while if you come during the rush, just like Niko Niko's or Thelma's. But all good things come to those to wait! This is the best fried chicken in the world. Chains are put to shame. The biscuits are also very awesome. How many times I came here doing college is ridiculous. Although eating fried chicken actually shows up on me now, a trip to Frenchy's every so often is a must! more

No inside dining! 8/30/2008

After reading all the rave reviews, went to my nearest one off of Tidwell and 45. I've never seen a restaurant where u got to line up outside. (No inside dining) I guess if it rains u just get wet...interesting concept. Its either that or drive thru. Chicken was good but a little pricy. I got a 10 piece mix & 2 sides and ran me $20. A little pricy considering chains like Popeyes and KFC. (I thought it should have been cheaper since they cut cost in overhead - ie inside dining) Chicken was good, but not any better than popeyes or KFC. Sides were average. Cons: Stand in line outside to order.....???? more

One of a kind! 8/1/2008

Frenchy's fried chicken has a reputation as the very best friend chicken in Houston. People drive a very long way to visit the original restaurant! The chicken is everything was rumored to be and the sides are delicious! more

Great Chicken 6/5/2008

I heard about Frenchy's for a few years before I tried it. The chicken was good, but I still like Church's better. It's best to get there early, especially on Sunday before the church crowd gets out. Pros: drive through window Cons: gets super busy more

Frenchy's Chicken 4/27/2008

Oh my God! I drive 80 miles once a week to get this chicken and you know gas is 3.50 a gallon. I must say the chicken is down home cooking chicken! Also, the cabbage you have to drive I am serious. Everytime I go to this place the drive thru line flows into the streets! You may wait 30 minutes or more in line but the chicken is well worth it. Also, the windown line is long too. If you want to eat there you muse sit outsidde on picnic tables. The best location is 3919 Scott it is the orginal location in 3rd ward off Scott...............45S and exit Scott...........This building is hood but you will love the food! This is a must try! Pros: Best Damn Chicken the World Cons: Long lines slowwwwwwwwwwwwwwww more
