Fortress Self Storage

Cindy Maynard tried to ""beat me"" out of $5.00 in gas after I rented the U-Haul for $178. Fortress U-Haul records the gas from the previous rental, then moves the trucks from inside to outside the gate daily. Fortress U-Haul moved my truck back and forth for over two months and expected me to pay the gas. The tank was empty when I picked up the vehicle. After I returned the vehicle, I showed Cindy the pictures I took of the gas gauge right after I picked up the truck and two receipts from the gas station and she threatened to sue me ... I told Cindy ""PLEASE DO"" ... I just happen to be a lawyer! ... see same comment on Better Business Bureau website. - Jim W. more

I recently had the opportunity to rent both a truck and storage facility from Fortress. What a pleasurable experience. The Manger (Cindy) was fantastic. Extremely knowlagable, professional and very friendly. I would reccomend this facility to anyone needing these services and wish my Managers / employees were as personable as Cindy! These guys know how to rip you off in every way they can. I reserved a 26' truck in Noblesville Indiana. I was later called and told that I would have to pick up the truck from Fortress Self Storage in Fishers, IN which is about 5 miles from my original location. So, I had to pay about $15 in extra travelling. Cons: SCAMMERS more

I went in to rent a u haul truck at 11am (the time that I reserved it), the truck had not been returned by previous renter. They told me truck would be back and ready by noon and that they would call me when it was ready. They called me at 1:15pm to come and pick it up. So it was over two hours late. Then I called because I left my garage door opener in truck. Person (Joe) told me that he would look for it and if he found it he would call me in a few hours. I told him I knew the opener was in there because I went back and looked. He again told me if he found it he would call me. Said he was the manager but so rude and didnt have any customer service skills. I also spent $5.00 on uhaul on line to reserve this truck. Said he didnt know where my $5 went and didnt know anything about the internet. more
