How can you go wrong with one of the original Brasilian churrascarias. When I lived in Brasil, I frequented Fogo de Chao there and was ecstatic that they finally opened one here in the greater LA area. I have been to the ones in Dallas, Atlanta, and Chicago whenever I traveled to those areas for business and now, finally, I can go to one here in LA. The meat is excellent, superbly tender and rightly marinated. (for the person who thought that this was salt lick, well, guess what, the marinating is salt called sal grosso in Portuguese. so don't ever eat brasilian churrasco again.) The ambience is very typical of the other Fogo de Chaos and it really makes you feel welcome. The service is magnificent with the servers waiting in line to get their cuts of meat on your plate. So meat, meat, meat, meat, and that is exactly why you go to this place. The only complaint that I have is that there are certain cuts of meat that they serve in Brasil, but don't serve here in America, like chicken hearts, and cupin. I was informed that cupin is not served because in America, all the shots are administered through that part of the cow, so cupin is not allowed to be served. A shame since that is a very tender and delicious cut of meat. About chicken hearts, it seems that Americans just haven't developed a taste for it and so it was Fogo de Chaos decision not to serve it. Oh well. Otherwise, you just can't beat the original Brasilian churrasco, just the way that it is made in Brasil. The only reason I give this Fogo de Chao a 9 is because I can't get the cuts of meat that I could in Brasil. Too bad.
Pros: Authentic churrasco, Wonderful food, Great service.
