Giving good mechanics a bad name 6/7/2011

Took my vehicle in to get an estimate for rear brake pad and rotor replacement. Firestone was one of five quotes received and double the price of the next highest quote. The fact that they were double the price was a bit ridiculous but that's why you have a few others quote. The thing I disliked the most was the lack of professionalism from the staff. Very condescending, treating me like I didn't know what was going on. I've done this work myself prior to living in the city(don't have a garage anymore) so I didn't appreciate the salesman eluding to the fact that I wouldn't make it across the street without crashing. Avoid these guys when possible, overpriced and not looking out for your best interests. more

another dishonest mechanics 8/18/2010

I paid $350 for supposedly tie rod replacement and wheel alignment...I was there for 3 hours and they said they ordered the parts and it would take a while to find one....with all those LIES, guess what my independent mechanic showed me that the tie rod was never replaced it is still old and rusty they just tightened it. my wheel was not also aligned and it was toe in. Very very dishonest people in the industry. I know it a needle in a haystack to find an honest mechanic but at least one hay (firestone auto care) you don't have to bother with. Go somewhere else. more

Incompetence!! 2/20/2008

updated info... i recently went to other mechanic for second opinion. According to firestone crew, some of those problems they mentioned were very critical and needed to replace right away and i was getting flat tire so that needed to be repaired asap. not to mention repairing a flat was another $20 or so. The other mechanic told me that I still had approx. over 5,000 miles left on my brakes and tires were in good shape and no puncture to be found. Also if i were to do the same job which includes all four new brake pads and new rotors( all OE), the estimation came out to be just a little as $250 less. Big difference, huh.. Do please research before you decide to put a trust in other people's hand. more
