great service, bad pizza 3/1/2009

If you like soggy pizza crust witthout any texture, you will love this pizza. How on earth this place was voted best pizza I will never understand. This was so bad I couldn't eat more than one slice. (Normally I am of the view that even bad pizza is pretty edible because it's hot and has melted cheese.) The really sad thing is that when you read the menu, you get the impression that you are in for something special. But starting with the crust, the overseasoned sauce, etc...it is just a bad use of good food. I was very disappointed given the great reviews and obvious care taken to procure quality ingredients. The service was great, but I have no intention of returning. Pros: service Cons: food more

Great Food. Great Service. Great Time. 1/19/2009

A couple of co-workers and myself ventured to the Fireside Pies on Inwood & Lovers the other night basically just looking to get some good pizza. Having only been to the Henderson location before we did not know what to expect. Needless to say we were pleasantly surprised. This location is much larger so the wait seemed to go by much more quickly. The service was great! The waitresses are were all very nice, had great senses of humor and were sharp. We had at least three different girls (all blondes) approach us to make sure we were having a great time during the course of our meal. A little pushy on the ""specials"" for the night, but one of my colleagues actually ended up getting something they recommended. You can easily run up your check here, but overall it is worth it. Great atmosphere and a place where you can take your family, significant other or co-workers and still feel comfortable. A combination like that is very rare to find in Dallas these days. Pros: Food, Service and Atmosphere Cons: N/A more

Great Food, intimate atmosphere, wonderful service 10/10/2008

I had never visited or heard of this place. I just took a chance - and I am glad I did. I want to extremely thank them for the hospitality and wonderful planning of my boyfriends 30th Birthday dinner we had at the restuarant. Everyone had a great time and they really enjoyed the food. It was everyones first time. The salad was the most talked about. His mother doesn't eat pizza in the states, but said it was great. It reminded her of the pizza she ate when she lived in Italy! Again, I cannot say enough how much I appreciated the staff. They were accommodating (for my last minute notice) and did a wonderful job - from the set up of the decor to making sure me and my party's needs were meet every minute we were there. more

Will not go back 1/12/2008

Have been here tons of times. We love the atmosphere, the beer/wine selection and the appetizers. Pizza is usually ok. The weight is long, very long, however we never used to mind because as I said we enjoy the atmosphere. Will not go back. Large parties routinely get sat before 2 tops and on one occasion the waitress actually told us that she was preparing a booth for us and then sat a party of 4 in it (they arrived long after us). With that kind of customer service, we are done going there. Too many other great pizza places in Dallas. more

Great food! 9/11/2007

We called ahead to be sure that this restaurant was kid-friendly. The young man who answered the phone assured me it was a family friendly atmosphere and said, ""Bring 'em on!"" when I informed him that we have 4 kids. more

great pizza and great patio. 7/10/2007

a couple of girlfriends and i ate at fireside pies around 9:45 on a friday and only had to wait 45 minutes. but we sat outside and had some red passion sangria while we waited and it was fabulous. we sat on the patio and our waitress was really attentive. we didnt have to wait all that long for our pizza either. it was delicious! i got the north beach pizza with scarmoza cheese (a smoky mozzarella) and it was even better cold the next day. i am definitely going back. Pros: the BEST pizza and drinks. Cons: kinda trendy and all that goes with that label. more

Best pizza in Dallas 11/16/2006

There is a reason this place is so crowded - they serve the best pizza in town! When I go for dinner, I either go early, around 6:30 or late, after 10pm and I usually avoid going on the weekends. I've always had great service. Outdoor patio is really nice. more

Does not answer their phone - ever, incredibly long wait 11/11/2006

Try to get them to answer their phone. What restaurant doesn't answer their phone? I mean NEVER. The wait? Ridiculous. I mean stupid. Forget about this place. It's not that cool. more

Overrated 3/13/2006

Extremly crowded, to the point of being annoying. I could not carry on a conversation without yelling. One of the servers practically ran over me on my way to the bathroom telling me to ""Hurry, hurry!!"" He was carrying a pepper grinder...I guess it was heavy... The food is overpriced and mediocre at best. The wait was ridiculous. I would not recommend this place. more

absolutely the best 1/20/2006

Great place to call your own. I love the crowd. It seems that it is always busy, but well worth the wait. The pizzas have amazing flavor, and the salads are over the top. The place humms all night. My friends an I make it our weekly tradition. more

Burn't crusted disgusting pizza 10/17/2005

This restaurant is nothing but a soon to be forgotten fad. After visiting the restaurant and waiting for 2hours for a table (while others were seated even when we arrived first) we were approached by a rather unhappy waitress. Our order took over an hour to arrive. My pizza was totally burn't on the bottom and some of my chicken topping was very raw. Our waitress was way too busy to be concerned with my issues. I'm sorry to say that we paid our bill/w tip and left very dissatisfied and disappointed. Never will I step into this restaurant again. I would not recommend this place to my worst enemy. Cons: Bad food, bad service, bad atmosphere more

Best Gourmet Pizza 9/13/2005

Hands down the best thin crust, gourmet topping pizza in the city. It puts that CA pizza chain to shame. Aruga salad was excellent, pesto chicken pizza to die for. It was chaotic at 7pm on Labor Day, but worth the wait. Fun, unassuming atmosphere, very clean, friendly service, eclectic crown, decent wine list. If you like gourmet pizza, you must go. Pros: Best Pizza, Unusual Setting, Upbeat more

Worth the wait! 4/24/2005

If you can handle the sometimes hour wait, then this place is your gourmet pizza stop. I highly reccomend staring off with a salad (you can split it with up to 4 people). Though I don't reccomend the ceasar. Pizzas are large as well. Save room for dessert! Cheesecake is to die for! Pros: Food, food, food Cons: wait, crowds more

Great 12/22/2004

This is really great pizza. Also the arugula salad is both huge and delicious. Tasty cocktails by the glass or pitcher. Pros: Outside dining, valet more

Seating 11/4/2004

The only down side is the space for seating, the cap is 49. more
