Editorial review from Citysearch 10/23/2012

lived there for two years and only encountered minor issues while living there. It was when I moved out that I experienced the problems.\r I called in response to a collection letter. An employee named TC answered. I told him that I had lived there for over two years, have always paid my rent on time, gave my two month noticed and left the unit very clean and even cleaned the carpets. He said the $700.00 charge was for paint and an electric bill. I asked why I didn't receive the final electric bill and he said it is because one bill is divided up between all the apt's in the unit and it had to be paid. I still do not understand why I did not receive the bill. Then he said the paint should have looked as it did when I moved in over 2 years ago. I asked, dont you paint every unit before a new tenant moves in. He stated that he is not requird to do so per the law. He was very rude and threatening and wouldn't let me talk. Everytime I would try to talk, he would bellow out ""lalalalalalalalalalalalalalalalala!"" This is so unbelievable to me. I have never experienced someone so rude and unprofessional. I tried to tell him that my job situation had changed and that I would make payment arrangements. He called me a liar and said no that I had to pay it in full now and continued to say ""lalalalalalalalallalalalalla"" again so I could not talk. I called a second time trying to speak to someone else and he said there is no one else. I have been here for 10 years and you cant get me in trouble. I felt like I was speaking to a 10 year old. I truely don't know how to resolve this more

This place should rename themselves as ""Fieldstone Disgrace"" 12/21/2008

In the past 4 years, this place went thru 4 rental office managers. In 2004, it was owned by Triangle Real Estate Services. But, after all the complaints, Ardent Property Management took over by 2006. First, the windows were horrible. You had to layer on the window insulation during the winter or your furnace would run constantly. Second, you were charged for water/electricity as a ""unit"". Regardless of how much or how little you used, your bill was divided by the number of apartments within your ""unit"". Then you were left feeling like you paid for someone else?s usage. Third, the move out conditions was absurd. Upon termination of my lease, I followed the move out sheet given to me only to find out the paint store mentioned for the paint used, was out of business. Fieldstone will not provide you with paint for touch ups. Well, I painted, cleaned, and did everything as noted on the move out sheet that wasn't considered ""wear & tear"" even tho stuff was ""cheaply"" fixed & painted in the first place. I moved out on 11/15/08. On 12/12/08, I received a packet from Ardent with a damage bill of almost $4,200. They ""claim"" they replaced the base boards throughout the entire apartment; doorframes & moldings were also replaced. Labor stated was 93 hours (2-1/2 weeks) at a price of $2,100. They charged me for a few light bulbs (which I know were not out since I made sure right before I turned in my keys they were all in working order). And since when can you be charged for carpet after 4 years? It's called ""wear & tear"". It?s not like it was made from imported Egyptian wool. I am so outraged by these fees. These apartments are almost 30 years old anyways and showing horrible signs of aging; it's not the Taj Mahal. Beware of this place. I've figured out that the longer you live here, the more you are charged when you leave. They lure you in and screw you over once you move out. I would never recommend anything Ardent Properties to anyone. Pros: close to Polaris Cons: the windows are horrible, the rental office management was rude, and the outrageous move-out charges more

DO NOT LIVE HERE 10/16/2007

Not only was there a drive by shooting on our street into one of the apartments, but after following their meticulous cleaning checklist (we cleaned for 5 days); they charged us over $950 to ""replace the carpet"" due to pet stains (which contradicts the terms of the lease).\r The leasing agents are also very rude once you actually become a tenant and your maintenance concerns go unresolved for days. It may look nice, but please DO NOT LIVE HERE!\r Pros: It's affordable Cons: They do not disclose acturate charges for potential carpet cleaning. more

Too good to be true? Of course it is. 8/2/2007

You show up for a tour and think to yourself that it looks nice and seems like the kind of place you were hoping for.\r \r Then you move in. The neighbors are noisy. Not just the ones next to you, but the ones in the apartments across the road from you like loud music early in the morning. The building right across from you has a person that likes to open their windows and listen to the tv and radio at sound levels you didn't think people could tolerate. You call the office for help, and they seem to think you are over exagerating.\r \r The pet rules say under 70 lbs. I think it was more of a suggestion than a rule. Grassy areas there are for dogs that are large and less than happy to see you.\r \r They want to get you moved in. I met one person in the office that was helpful. The rest of them? Good luck.\r \r ...and yes...the train is loud. It takes a few weeks to adjust to it if you are a heavy sleeper. Not sure it would work for a light sleeper. I've seen pillows in the windows there.\r \r On the plus side, it was close to the Polaris area. It is also cheap for the square footage in that neighborhood.\r \r Buyer beware! If the price seems to good to be true, maybe it is. Pros: location and price Cons: customer care and rule enforcement more
