Elegant & Delish 5/9/2011

This was our second visit to Fernandos. It was a Friday night, about 9pm and the diners were a mix of family, couples and large groups. It was nice to see people dressed up in this more formal feeling place. \r \r Every single thing we ordered was seasononed well, authentic and made perfectly. We had the empanadas, chicken with the artichoke/tomato sauce and steak pasta. For dessert we had the flan. YUM. \r \r The live music was a nice touch, the band had a great personality, a couple was dancing on the floor... The lighting is dim and creates a warm ambiance. \r \r The service, while polite and gracious, was a little slower then expected; this was our only con. \r \r We thoroughly enjoyed it and look forward to our next visit and may consider doing a private event here one day. \r more

Great date night restaurant 7/11/2010

My husband and I went here for the first time last night, and we absolutely love it. We are already planning to treat my parents to dinner here.\r \r First of all, the service was amazing - very on top of it and very friendly. My tea never ran dry, and the owner personally served us our food and checked on us several times. You can tell he's the sort that's very involved in his restaurant - he was all over the dining room, greeting customers, serving food and cleaning tables. I think he was in the dining room for the entire hour and a half that we were there.\r \r The food was equally enjoyable. I had the seafood paella, which was a first for me. I don't have much to compare it to since I've never had paella before, but it was delicious. There was a huge variety of seafood in it - mussels, crawfish, shrimp, fish - plus some sausage and chicken. My husband had the ribeye and loved it as well. He usually douses any steak in steak sauce, but he didn't put anything at all on this steak. That is the first time I have EVER seen him not use steak sauce.\r \r They also have live music on Fridays and Saturdays. We went on Saturday and sat a little ways away from the dance floor. The music was very good, but it was still quiet enough that I could carry on a conversation with my husband. Pros: Great food, music and service more

Disappointing-Sugar Land needs a few more restauants like Amici and Aura 8/21/2008

Supposed ""latino menu"" is just the standard stuff with latino-ish names. The vaunted paella was a stranger to saffron -- two tiny pieces of chorizo, four mussels, two tiny clams, two shrimp, (count-em) etc. If you want real paella, try Ibiza on Sunday night. Pros: Quiet- good for conversation Cons: Disappointing food more

Sugar Land's Secret 9/20/2007

Fernando?s is quickly becoming one of my favorites. The service is routinely excellent and the menu diverse and exciting. The owner even comes around to great the patrons. We felt free to discuss the menu and options. My wife and I love to explore a menu and often split entrees . Fernando?s was great about splitting the entrees. I think they even gave us more than half each. The food was great and the ambience romantic. Truly this is a Sugar Land secret. Pros: Ambience, service, food Cons: ""Live music"" is a DJ. more
