I love ER. ER was the original "chain" coffeehouse in CU before the others took hold of the area. Although it is a chain, it doesn't feel quite as sterile or fancy as Starbucks....

What a chain coffehouse USED to be! 4/10/2006

I love ER. ER was the original "chain" coffeehouse in CU before the others took hold of the area. Although it is a chain, it doesn't feel quite as sterile or fancy as Starbucks. It has some personality and great drinks. The drinks are a little cheaper than what you would find at Starbucks but they still have a pretty good selection. The pastries are WONDERFUL (I love their cookies and muffins). It's also a great place to study if you are lucky enough to get a table. The downstairs is usually pretty quiet and there are less distractions because almost everyone in the basement is there to study. Great place! more

Espresso Royale 4/4/2006

As a college student that depends on coffee to get by, Espresso Royale was there to give me my caffeine fix. While I admittably prefer Starbucks and Caribou over Espresso Royale, I can't deny that Espresso Royale delivers great drinks. Their selections may not be as fancy as their competitors, but Espresso Royale is good at what it does. The shop is a little small, and being on campus, is often filled for most of the day, but that just attests to its popularity. more

Good cider 3/16/2006

My husband and I go to Espresso Royale fairly frequently because it is right across from his building at school. During the fall they had awesome Taffy Apple Cider. It was so good. Since then they haven't had any specials that were appealing to us because we don't actually drink coffee or tea. They have really good mint hot chocolate and a variety of pastries and snacks. It think that their food and drinks are very good, but they aren't the cheapest place to get a drink. If we both got a drink and a scone, it would cost about $12. I like their stuff, I just wish it was a little bit cheaper. more
