Greetings! I am a second time patient of Dr. Eshima's. 3 years ago, when I turned 41 I had an eyelift. Knowing how my family's eyes age, I truly had talked to surgeons for 10 years before settling on Dr. Eshima. (I had even interviewed Ivana Trump's surgeon!). It was extremely important to me that my full upper lids keep their full, sorta 'Claudia Schiffer' look. I did not want scary, carved out, tight eyes. All the other cosmetic surgeons' ideas didn't jibe with my common sense. The minute I walked into Dr. Eshima's office, I KNEW I found the artist for me. He assured me my eyes would maintain a youthful 'full' look. Three years later I am still thrilled. Fast forward to today. I just walked in the door after having my bandages removed from a rhinoplasty performed by Dr. Eshima. About 2 years ago I was looking at photos and the tip of my nose had started to dip after losing fat in my face from just plain old aging. When Dr. Eshima removed the bandages, and then handed me the mirror, I was floored! Despite a little bruising, my nose is perfect! Gorgeous! The kind of nose I always envied. I had had Asian eyelid surgery twice without success. The first surgery performed by a surgeon in the UK a decade ago, was incorrectly done without the specific creation of an eyelid fold. I don't think that I can say enough wonderful things about Dr. Eshima as a doctor and an artist, or his staff. After trauma to the nose and terrible patch up job by a well reputed surgeon overseas 6 years ago, I had decided that I would never ever go under the knife unless it was to deliver a child! One day at another Dr.'s office I asked the nurse (who recently had a facelift) about who she thinks the best doctor is. She said ""Oh Dr. Issa Eshima hands down, the best of the best."" She said you can google him and see reviews, but the man doesn't have a website because frankly he didn't need one and all his clients were word of mouth. Interesting I thought, but I was still reluctant and afraid. Six months later, noticing a slow but sure distortion in my nose I decided to start looking for a surgeon. There was something about Dr. Eshima's reviews that pulled me. From the minute I walked into his office something felt right..from the walls to the lovely and professional Magaly - his office manager. When I met Dr. Eshima, I was probably his most confused and scared patients...asking a million questions! Not only did Dr. Eshima so wonderfully answer all my concerns, there is a confidence he had in himself that makes you trust him. THEN I saw his before and after picture. OH MY GOODNESS the results!!! The beautiful and natural looking results!!! People who even had so much done, just looked like better versions of themselves. His eye sees more detail in your face than you yourself would ever be able to articulate. That's what he does, he pays attention to every tiny detail. That was it for me, the meeting that day...my instinct told me, OK..,if there will be a doctor only he will be the one. I made my decision....I didn't even bother to go to another doctor for a consultation. Counting up to the surgery, Dr. Eshima and Magaly took such good care of me. Magaly was there for me and my nerves in the most professional and caring manner - and I tell you the woman is informed about everything! She is amazing. The day of the surgery Dr. Eshima was there with a big smile and briefly went over what all we talked about. When I was finally wheeled into the surgery room, a little drowsy and ready to doze off I saw Dr. Eshima putting up the pictures and details I had given him AND my wish list that I had written to him! How amazing I thought..but before I could speak I was out. When I woke up his sweetheart nurse Grace was by my side and took such good care of me through my post op nausea - that I wanted to pack her up and bring her home! Dr. Eshima personally came by to see how I was doing and through my woozy state I heard him reassure my husband about the surgery. Every day post-op for 2 weeks Magaly called me to check in on me. Never for a second did I feel alone, even Kathy new at the front desk was there so kindly and efficiently to assist me with any concern. Today I am 2 months post op healing so well and absolutely THRILLED with the results! People have looked at me and smiled and asked me if I have lost weight! People who knew cant stop saying what a beautiful job he has done, and my family members say that I look a lot like when I was eighteen - THAT is a compliment!!....And the most amazing part is my nose is actually still swollen and the end result is months away!! Dr. Eshima is beyond a gifted surgeon, he is an artist with an sharp aesthetic sense of facial beauty. An honest ethical man, who pays much attention to what you want. Dr. Issa Eshima is exceptional--in a class by himself. Who else would you want to work on your face? Seven months ago, I was reading his reviews, as you are now. I am a successful professional woman in the high tech industry. Though I am fit, energetic and feel young, my face had begun to sag and I looked tired. I was concerned that if I lost my job (especially during the Great Recession), I would have trouble finding another job in the dynamic and youthful tech industry where age bias exists. Plus, I felt I was becoming invisible. Outside of work, I enjoy travel and social dancing and wanted to look as good as I feel. I was self-conscious that my jowls ""interfered"" with my profile/jawline while dancing and that bothered me. I tried 9 months of fillers, Botox, and laser treatments--with nice results --but they didn't improve my jowl or the bags under my eyes. He is not only an expert surgeon, he is an artist. In fact, the day of my surgery, I teasingly called him ""Michelangelo!"" I am thrilled with my results! But before I get into that, a word about the outstanding support Magaly, Dr. Eshima's office manager, provides to the pre- and post-op experience. She was infinitely patient with me, explaining how to prepare for the procedures and what to expect as I recovered. Then, she called me every day after my surgery for weeks, including on Christmas and New Years to check on me and to patiently answer all of my questions and to offer expert advice. In addition to Magaly, Mary Kay, a private RN recommended by Dr. Eshima, cared for me from the time I got out of the recovery room until I was discharged from the hospital. She was constantly attending to me and I was relieved to have her with me those first 20 hours! The anesthesiologist is excellent as well. I had superb care. The results? I no longer feel invisible. Colleagues and strangers are noticeably friendlier towards me. The people who I meet say they cannot believe I am old enough to have a grown child. My eyes, lips, jaw, and neck are amazingly youthful and natural. There are no visible scars. And I do not look ""done."" It's as if 15-20 years have vanished from my face. I am so happy to share with you my most extraordinary facial cosmetic surgery experience with Dr. Issa Eshima. I am ecstatic and certainly did not ever imagine that I could look this good! All I was desiring was to be rid of some of my 64 year old wrinkles, not even expecting to be the most beautiful me I could be. My 32 year old son was skeptical at first, but after seeing me just four weeks after surgery, is announcing to the world, ?It?s amazing! My mother looks likes she?s thirty five years old! "" Dr. Eshima is truly a master! I had been researching plastic surgeons for over two years, combing the Bay Area for the best and interviewing the ""top"" surgeons in the Bay Area. Complicating matters for me , was my overwhelming fear of doctors, hospitals, etc. When I interviewed Dr. Eshima, his kindness truly helped me overcome my fears. I could tell that this man truly cared about people and their lives. For instance, after choosing my date, he mentioned that on the third day after my surgery he would be out of town at a convention and wondered if this would be a problem for me. Then I decided to go to some well known skin specialists and dermatologists in the Bay Area and ask their opinion about my face ""Is there anything else that I can do?.? One treatment specialist in Palo Alto after learning that I was interested in Dr. Eshima said that he was the best and that she believed in him so strongly that if I decided to go ahead with the procedure that she would drive me to the hospital and take care of me for a week because she wanted the privilege of meeting him! I first heard about Dr. Eshima through my personal shopper in San Francisco. I am 46 years old and have been in pharmaceutical sales since graduating from college, working with countless doctors over the years. After I turned 30, I started keeping names of plastic surgeons that I had heard about through friends, physicians, patients and even eavesdropping in the locker room at the Bay Club in Marin. Dr. Eshima?s name kept coming up as I was actively seeking information. I got VERY strong recommendations from my doctor friends that Dr. Eshima is the ONLY plastic surgeon I should go to. There are some very good plastic surgeons in the Bay Area. What set Dr. Eshima apart from the others is his amazing ability to define what truly bothered me about my face (now remember he comes with the highest pedigree, the highest accolades, the best work and it?s all available to see in his office again and again if you?re a bit obsessive and indecisive like me). What he noted was the length between my nose and my upper lip was too long! My friends and family had always joked about the fact that I looked a little monkey-like?in a cute way?.but it sort of gets less cute as you get older. I went to LOTS of consultations with LOTS of well recommended plastic surgeons and no-one ever mentioned this to me as a potential surgical procedure OR as an issue on my face. I considered Fraxel, IPL, thread ?face lifts? etc...After listening to what seemed like 100 plastic surgeons? plans of actions for my face I was a tiny bit confused. I went to see Dr. Eshima and he knew exactly what needed to be done. It involved shortening my upper lip! He seems to be the only surgeon that knows this procedure let alone actually does it (I think he was trained by Jackie O?s surgeon which just sort of makes me feel hip). Dr. Eshima told me that with a mini face lift, chin implant, this lip lift thing, and an upper and lower bleph, I would shave years off my appearance and look great. He?s a gifted artist and understands proportion and balance (his father was an architect and his mother was a professional artist... art is in his gene pool). He?s a perfectionist and a gifted surgeon. It?s been 10 months since my surgery and my result is incredible. My incisions are undetectable. I could be strolling along the beach with the wind blowing through my hair and no one would be the wiser. He doesn?t advertise. Not listed in any directory. Not even a website. His business is all word of mouth. I went back to work in 2 and a half weeks and I?m in MEDICAL SALES! I looked great at that point. I had almost no visible bruising or swelling. If anyone is thinking about doing a cosmetic refresher in life I would highly recommend Dr Eshima. This has been one of the top 5 investments I?ve ever made for myself. In doing my research for a complete overhaul of my face (eyes, face and neck) I interviewed 7 plastic surgeons over three years. I went to the two ""best in town"" in Rancho Murieta (where I live), two very well known doctors in Beverly Hills, and three highly recommended surgeons in San Francisco. All were professional and courteous and had interesting ideas of what they thought I should do. In every case I considered the doctors very seriously but always decided not to go ahead with the surgery...until I met Dr. Eshima. From the minute I walked into his beautiful office across from Saint Francis Hospital on Nob Hill every thing said to me-This is the ONE. Dr. Eshima showed me countless pictures of his work and told me what to look for when interviewing other surgeons and reviewing their work. I felt the ""art"" in his work spoke for itself, however talking to him reassured me even more. I also found comfort in the fact that he only does faces. I am 43 years old and have spent my life in the sun living a very active life. My skin had paid the price and my facial structure was sagging. I had many people close to me tell me I didn't need the face lift--that I was beautiful etc. Most of my friends were almost indignant at the thought of surgery--and let me know how distasteful they found it. Those same people are now eating their words. He is the most qualified and has the best staff- (Magaly calls EVERY day for 2 weeks to reassure you and give you daily instructions) He has an artists eye that cannot be trained and an attention to detail that is unrivaled.
