Erik's Hauling and Moving

Every now and again, one hit's paydirt. I found ERIK's through a Web Search and my Wife, Mother in Law, and Myself could not possibly be more pleased! These guy's were great, even down to rescuing my elderly M-I-L from her ICY/SNOWY trek to her New Place. Showed up Promptly on time and executed the Moving Task ............. Flawlessly. Weather wasn't the best and it was Super Bowl Sunday and still great trio of fella's. Neat, Clean, Courteous, Professional ................ I'll come up with some more adjectives.\r \r UPDATE - Had them back a week later to Haul Junk out of my M-I-L's house before closing. Friday, January 10, 2014 - Well, we just said goodbye to the crew from Erik’s Hauling & Moving, and we couldn’t be happier. They came up here – we’re quite a haul from West Mifflin, about 20 miles north of Pittsburgh – to do a complete house clean-out on a rental property that had been abandoned for over a year. This was a two-story house with full attic and basement, and it looked like the worst episode from “Hoarders” – five-foot high piles of rotting clothes and trash, cupboards and counters full of dirty dishes and decomposing food, stacked mattresses, broken furniture – unbelievable. They hauled it all away, at the price they quoted us, in the coldest weather we’ve seen in 20 years – unbelievable! Every member of Eric’s team was professional, efficient, and friendly, and while they made it look easy we know it was a hard, grueling job. Heartfelt thanks to Erik, Becky, Joe, Tom, John, and Mike!\r \r We’d also like to say a quick word about some of the reviews posted on the web. We read reviews just like everyone else does, to try to avoid businesses that might prove untrustworthy or inept. This was a big job and we were particularly vulnerable, never having hired anyone ourselves before. Our first contact was with Becky and we immediately felt we could trust this company. She came out to the house, did a thorough – and obviously very experienced – evaluation, and gave us a price quote. This was exactly what we paid - when the job was completed. There are a couple of negative reviews posted on the web claiming that Erik’s Hauling “takes your money and then don’t show up.” They sound like they are written by the same individual with a personal, and no doubt unwarranted, axe to grind. There’s no real protection against this sort of malicious attack, but if you read the other reviews, you can spot those folks who are genuinely grateful for the services provided – both hauling and moving – by Erik and Becky and their team of professionals. I have used Erik's Hauling for the past three years. Without question I have found them to be reliable, respectful and extremely trustworthy. I have been able to call at a moments notice with any type of job (hauling, moving, relocating ""stuff"", demolition). They have always shown up on time and worked non-stop until the job was completed. I found their prices to be very fair and pretty certain they don't have a ""pay first"" policy. In all instances I have been asked to inspect the quality of their work before paying. more

I called Erik's at 8:40am Erik said he would call back in 20 min. he was pulling up to a job. Never got a call back so I called Jurassic Junk removal and they came the next day and removed my junk at a fair price. I would have had Erik remove it if he just called back. Bad businees practice cost him $300 more

Erik and his crew are the best. Always prompt and professional. I have used this company several times at both home and office and give them highest praise for job well done... and for having great rates. more

Erik's guys were on time and very polite. My move went very well. Less stress is always better, I would hire Erik again. I hear he does a great job doing hauling too!!! Thanks for a wonderful experience. more

Erik's Hauling team performed a basement clean out for me. My first impression when calling for a quote was with Becky. Very professional and knowledgeable. She and Rich arrived on time with a truck sized perfectly for the job. The were friendly, fast, worked great as a team, and left the area broom clean. I was comfortable with them in my home and will hire Erik's Hauling for services in the future. more

They take your money and then don't show up, leaving you totally high and dry. They totally screwed my friend yesterday, they took his money and then never showed up or returned any of his calls. \r \r They may offer the lowest price, but they'll keep the money and then never show up. Avoid Erik's Hauling & Moving at all costs. more

A piece of advice to anyone in the Pittsburgh area: if you ever need to hire a moving company, DON'T hire Erik's Hauling and Moving. The movers were supposed to come at 9am this morning. After they were a half hour late, I called Erik and he told me, ""They should be there soon. Let me check with the movers and I'll call you right back."" Erik never called me back and ignored every subsequent phone call I made. The movers never came, forcing me to move all my stuff myself. Don't be suckered by Erik's low prices, the guy's a liar and a crook. more

We would also recommend Erik and his Movers! theyre helping us this week and helped us 2 times before! they were on time and professional, very personable and polite and most of all respectful. Can't say enough good things about these guys! Use Eriks Hauling & Moving !!! more

We would highly recommend Erik's Hauling. My mom was selling her house and moving during a stressful time and thanks to Erik it went very well. He was very professional and on time. He came to her house to give us an estimate based on the amount of items we needed hauled away. He was right on time when he came to do the work and did an excellent and very thorough job of removing everything. The house looked great. We then asked him if he could ship her car to Florida since another shipping company did not work out at the last minute. He drove the car to Florida and it arrived early! If you need anything moved, shipped or hauled away......call Erik! more

The movers were over 2 hours late, unprofessional, (commented that we must be ""dirty"" people), piled our belongings (like couch cushions and other fabric items) on the street while it was raining, and made 4 large holes in the wall (deep, into the sheetrock). It took them half an hour to get the 4 blocks to the destination, and when they were done, the movers tried to extort $130 MORE out of us. When asked about the holes, they refused to fix them.
