I have known her for 10 years and find her to be the most brilliant, honest, hardworking, compassionate orthodontist you could ever hope for. WOW! We love Dr. Cheek more than any doctor we've ever known! I've known her for over ten years, not only did she graduate first in her class of Orthodonture at UNC, but she was a Morehead scholar and traveled across the world helping underprivileged children with dental care during her summers! She is not only the most capable, most knowledgeable, most highly accredited in her field, but she has a loving, compassionate, always cheerful demeanor. She always is honest and has her patients' best interest at heart, and presents everything in a positive, warm way. If you want the BEST for your child or for yourself, Dr. Cheek is it! Dr. Cheek is my orthodontist, and I think she is the best! I love coming to my appointments, everyone at the office is really nice. I had to wear a Headgear which I really did not like, but Dr. Cheek took the time to explain to me why it was needed, and that helped out a lot! It made it much better to wear after I knew what progress I was making...working towards a pretty smile! I think Dr. Cheek's office is great! Pros: I really like everything about the office! I am a patient of Dr. Cheek in the Fuquay office. I had an expander and a few braces when I was younger and am really anxious to start my full set soon. I loved coming to the office, everyone is so nice! My appointments were much easier than I thought they would be...nothing ever hurt! I really liked that Dr. Cheek and all the ladies in the office cared about not only my teeth, but me and what was going on in my life too. Dr. Cheek is the best! Pros: Everything! more

I have 2 daughters (12 and 13) that are patients of Dr. Cheeks. We have had nothing but a positive experience with the Fuquay-Varina office. (I am sure the Raleigh office is excellent as well!) Being a former nurse, I know that there are few doctors out there like Dr. Cheek. She is extremely caring and compassionate. She takes time to get to know all her patients and treats them like they are her family. She is very knowledgeable and competent at what she does! I like that she has involved my children in their care. She explains why she is doing something, so they can learn why it's important. She expects them to take care of their teeth and appliances, and I so appreciate this as a mother! They have learned to be more responsible and they want to do this for her, as well as themselves. She is an excellent role model for my daughters, to see a woman doing such a great job in this profession. I have full confidence that my children are receiving the best orthodontic care in the area from this office. After referring a good friend to Dr. Cheek, she in turn, looked in city search for reviews. After reading the ""one"" bad review, she inquired on her message board at one of the largest computer companies in the Raleigh-Durham area. Everyone answered with a ""you've got to go to Dr. Cheek, she is the best in town."" My family has had nothing but great experiences with Dr. Cheek... She is a very caring and well-trained orthodontist. My daughter's teeth turned out great - she has a beautiful smile. She was not always the best patient - rubber bands were not her favorite thing.... Dr. Cheek always had her best interest at heart, even though we as parents did not want to hear that she was not cooperating as she should. We only\r have the best to say about her and her office. Pros: Just about everything. Cons: sometimes appointments tended to last longer than antcipated, but for the best you deal.... more

I usually never write reviews, but often read them. My daughter is a patient at Dr. Cheek's office, and we have never had a single problem. After reading the review from Mark9146, I felt that I needed to share my opinion. I can only say we have received the utmost care and compassion at this practice. Dr Cheek and staff are all very knowledgeable, the office is clean, and the prices are very reasonable. The standard of care here is the best i have seen. Pros: excellent care and very friendly staff! Cons: none so far!! more

My daughter was a patient of Dr. Cheek for approximately 11 months. During this time her braces broke on a continuous basis. In most cases the broken braces would cause considerable discomfort to my daughter. On our last visit to the office, Dr. Cheek removed her braces without our consent and prior to discussing the matter with us. She then told us our daughter was responsible for the continuous breakage due to plaque on her teeth under her wire and recommended stopping treatment because she was approaching ""break even"" with us. This dispite the fact that my daughter has NEVER had a cavity! We went to 2 other orthodontists for a 2nd opinion and was told her dental hygiene was better than most of their other patients. They were happy to bring her on as a patient and were surprised that an orthodontist would take the course of action Dr. Cheek followed. We are now having to startover from square 1 which will cost me an additional $2000. It's worth it not to have to put up with all of the problems we had with Dr. Cheek.
