Elephant Moving

I chose to use this company partly because of the great reviews I saw here on Citysearch. Everyone had such great things to say about them (aside from the 1 person who apparently didn't even use their services), and I am very pleased to report that my move was excellent! The whole thing went very smoothly. I hate moving (don't we all!) and was resigned to the idea that it would be as much fun as having my teeth pulled. But Elephant Moving made it a lot less painful. I found the office staff to be extremely helpful. They were happy to answer all of my pre-move questions (and I had a lot of them). I like that they email a copy of the estimate and a confirmation with date and time once you schedule - I have been stood up by movers before and had nothing to point to so I could prove they really were supposed to move me. I had an afternoon time slot, so I was given about a 2 hour window when they would show. I thought it would be like wating for the cable man (you know, "he'll be there between 1pm and 5pm" and then he shows up at 5:30...) but the office called about half an hour before my window and the crew showed up right at the beginning of my window. I couldn't have been happier that I didn't have to wait around for them like the cable man. The movers they sent were a great crew. I had 4 guys and unlike other companies I have used, these guys didn't seem scary or retarded! The whole crew was clearly well trained, they knew what they were doing and they did it well. I was pleased to see them wrap everything before they moved it, and they even reconnected my washer/dryer at my new place. The move took exactly the amount of time that was estimated, even with the Austin afternoon traffic. And the best part of my move: NOTHING WAS DAMAGED!! I would say that this was the best move I have had, and I am very glad that I decided to call Elephant Moving. I highly recommend this company to anyone who wants a great move experience. Elephant Moving Inc. is by far the best moving company that we?ve used in Austin! They showed right on time and got right to work. They were very careful with our belongings and wrapped the furniture better than I would have on some of the less expensive pieces. We had a crew of 4 guys and they were very professional and organized. Also, I appreciated that we were given a discount for being asked to reschedule our move, even though it was only one day later. I know how complicated scheduling can be an I?m glad that they offered us the discount when the conflict came up. Very great job!! Pros: professional, careful, and we got a discount for being flexible with their scheduling needs! Cons: Nothing bad to report - I thought they were the best movers we've used! more

I had a WONDERFUL MOVING EXPERIENCE with this company. The showed up right on time (actually a little sooner than scheduled, but I was hoping to move earlier so that was great for me!). The office staff was always courteous and helpful when I called. I even had to reschedule on kind of short notice because my new apartment wasn't ready yet and the office was very nice about it and squeezed me in on another day. My salesperson did a great job estimating my move - the final bill came in under the quote, which was AWESOME! The movers worked fast and took great care of my stuff. They wrapped it all and even had no trouble with my big screen TV down 2 flights of stairs! It was rainy the day I moved and the guys had floor protectors so nothing got muddy (I was worried about the light colored carpet in my new place...). Overall I was really pleased with my move and will be calling Elephant Moving again in a few months when I finally move into my house. Pros: reasonable rates, nice staff, handled my short notice reschedule really well more

The third time, I decided to choose my own moving company, and with Elephant Moving, I couldn't have been happier. Elephant was VERY professional, from the initial estimate to the thorough e-mail communication. They wrapped EVERY piece of furniture in padded blankets and my glass furniture was wrapped in pads and a thick layer of cardboard. They were exceedingly careful and didn't nick or scratch any furniture or walls. In addition, the team they had was very polite and respectful. And as an added bonus, they showed up when they said they would. \r \r I have moved a lot, both interstate and locally, and this was by far the best move I?ve ever had. I'm extremely satisfied with Elephant Moving. I had to change my move time at the last minute because the closing on my new house ran late. Elephant was very flexible and had no problem coming a few hours later. The estimated time and cost to move were accurate and everything was moved without any problems. They really know what they are doing. Very organized and efficient. They wrapped all my furniture in blankets before they took it out of the house and even did the move in less time than the company we used three months before for the exact same things. These guys are good...really good. I have a lot of furniture that can't take too many bumps or it will fall apart. Plus two glass topped tables and a large mirror. They know how to wrap everything perfectly. Nothing was nicked, chipped, scratched, cracked or broken. I couldn't believe everything made it from my apartment on the third floor all the way across town and up to the second floor. They don't charge an arm and a leg either. I really recommend this company. Pros: great packers, great movers, affordable and fast more

We had to be out of our house that day. I called three other moving companies and no one could schedule us until the next day. At 11am I called Elephant Moving and they were able to squeeze us into their schedule THE SAME DAY!! Within an hour they were there. The movers were professional and knew just what they were doing. They wrapped all our furniture in blankets and packed up 2 rooms that we had been too busy to get to in record time. And they didn't charge extra for this last minute emergency move! They worked until after 9pm to get the job done that day. Not one thing was damaged or broken. They really know what they are doing, and thanks to Elephant Moving we were able to sleep in our new house that night. I highly recommend Elephant Moving. I hope I don't have to move again for a while, but when I do I won't even consider using another company. I know Elephant is reliable and professional and my move will be as stress free as possible.
