This weekend I hosted a cocktail party for my friends and parents visiting, followed with a trip to the Marina Triangle. Since Eastside West was fairly empty, I brought my mom in for a glass of wine. It was the usual scene, and as a local I'm pretty used to it. While we were finishing our drink, a bouncer stomped in next to us, blew a whistle in our faces and proceeded to physically shove my mother, and the rest of us out of the bar. I have never in my life been treated so disrespectfully. I understand that bars like those need to be forceful as they're used to breaking up fights and handling young drunk kids, but the way we were shoved was deplorable. I also understand that it's not the place you really bring parents, but that is no excuse, because if I were alone I wouldn't expect to be treated like that. I snapped at the bouncer, "do NOT touch my mother," and he laughed in our faces. I have brought a ton of business to that bar in the past, but I will never go back to a place that treats it's paying and tipping patrons like cattle. Get a clue!
