Like most families, we ARE and WILL ALWAYS be a double income family just to make ends meet so working is not an option. My husband and I consider ourselves as ""laid back and easy going parents"", and obviously, when it comes to both of our children, we will do whatever it takes to protect them and to ensure that they feel comfortable with their surroundings while working our full-time jobs. Back in 2006 our son was attending a different daycare at the time. I will not go into any details about the other daycare but I will say that things got ""out of control and ugly"" to say the least. Someone upstairs must have been looking out for my family because a spot in their 2 yr. old room was about to open up at Eastside Christian Academy. We have had (and are still having) a WONDERFUL experience with ECA. Their daily curriculum, creative projects and fun activities, field trips, computer, music and swimming lessons, parent and community involvement is only part of it, Don't even get me started on the Christmas and Graduation programs that make me cry like a baby. Hands on and experienced teachers who genuinely care for the kids. We would like to again thank all involved with the extra special care and attention and support that was given to our daughter when she had some health issues as a baby. The only downfall is that the parking lot gets crowded during peak hours. Our son is in the 1st grade now and our daughter is about to move up to their 3yrs old room. Let's face it, not everyone is going to be pleased with everything and everyone and that's okay. My personal opinion about daycare in general is to communicate with the staff, but let them do their job. Your child (being of speaking age or not) and your maternal instinct will usually give you a idea of how things are really going when you're not around. Both of my kids started preschool at 3 months old so trust me, moms, finding a good daycare is one of the most important decisions that you will ever have to make. I am not joking when I say that there have been several times when my children did not want to leave the daycare because they loved it so much. That really says it all if you ask me! If ECA has a waiting list...grab a spot! A reputable facility like Eastside Christian Academy will always have limited spaces for the most part.
