Dr. Hohne is an absolute hero. When most vets tend to err on the side of 'wait and see', Dr. Hohne didn't hesitate a second to get my Doberman into see him. He saved his life no d...

EVVC - None Better, at any cost... 1/16/2008

My best review is the card and letter I gave to the EVVC for this past holiday season, mere weeks after I had to euthanize my 15.5 year old Rottweiler. Here's the letter:\r \r Dear Dr. Hohne,\r \r My heart can't find the words to express the depth of my appreciation for the gift you have given me. But herein, I have to try. Your medical brilliance allowed my beautiful furry daughter, Roxy, to walk in relative comfort for almost an entire extra year. \r \r You added a year to her life, and helped me experience fifteens years of the best canine companionship I have ever known. Your generous clinic and your magnificent associates (Actors & Others For Animals, Rottweiler Rescue, etc.) assisted to ease my financial \r burden for Roxy?s care, in these tough economic times.\r \r Your outstanding medical skills can only be surpassed by your passion to provide the best health care for animals, and your compassion dealing with animal owners. In my case, you kept Roxy healthily in my life for an extra y more

The Best Ever!!!! 10/12/2007

We've been going to Dr Hohne since he worked at another Vet's office in Sylmar. I loved him then, I love him now and will forever. I've had a lot of animals, and had used various vets and experienced various levels of care over the years. When we met him, I realized that Dr Hohne is awesome and the most caring doctor I've ever met. He's gets down on the floor with his "niece", a basset hound named Devon, and she adores him, which is the real proof of his character as far as I'm concerned. He had so much compassion when our old basset had to be finally put down, and he had worked very hard to help him stay alive. He actually cried along with us when Chappy passed. I'll never forget it.He's amazing and I would highly recommend him to anyone. more

A Complete Gem! 10/6/2007

East Valley Veterinary has taken care of my dog over the last month through numerous health issues and I have never had a pet receive better care. Dr. Hohne has a wonderful "bedside manner". And for the first time in years, I feel like my vet cares more about making my pet well than about bilking me out of my money by overcharging me for every service provided. I have found everyone at East Valley to be pleasant and extremely helpful - including front desk staff. more

Outstanding vet (Dr. Hohne), front desk staff not so much... 8/2/2007

Dr. Hohne is such an outstanding, caring and knowledgeable vet that he should get five stars with ease - but the front desk staff is so apathetic and frequently rude that it prevents a better rating. \r \r That said I would not and do not hesitate to strongly reccomend this veternarian - you won't find better prices anywhere, period. And Dr. Hohne is an experienced professional who could easily charge three times what he does (we have been for several minor issues with our dog and he didn't even charge us!) but his prices are by far the best around. \r \r I wish our family medical doctors were anywhere near as personal, attentive, caring and effective as Dr. Hohne is for our dogs! \r \r Only had brief experience with the other vets there and was not nearly as impressed as with Dr. Hohne (the younger woman vet seems more interested in showing off her Paris Hilton dog and chatting with the desk than helping the people/animals waiting).\r \r Get past the few disinterested and frustratingly apathe more

Definitely worth the 30 miles I drove to get there 7/28/2007

My usual vet is walking distance from my home. I was unsatisfied with the lack of concern and care for my Max and the lack of service on my last visit. Although there are countless vets in my area, I decided to check out East Valley Vet which is almost 30 miles from my home because of a referral. I was pleased by the friendliness of the staff. Dr. Hohne was great. When he came into the room to examine Max, he got down on the floor with him. He told me he could take care of the problem that same day with a minor surgery. The office was fairly busy that day. I left feeling that Max was well taken care of and the price was very reasonable. It was well worth the drive. more

Best vet ever! 6/29/2007

I have had lots of vets over the years, due to moves. I honestly picked East Valley Vet Clinic because of the convenience to my new house, & I consider myself truly lucky. Dr. Hohne is the best vet I have ever had. He's attentive & thorough. He was SO sensitive when he put one of my precious babies to sleep. I wanted to hug him. Some vets are good but have no "bedside manner," but Dr. Hohne is just wonderful with the furry babies AND the sometimes overbearing humans. I was reading the nasty review below, & I have never known this clinic to be that way, but let's face it, it IS a business, & for all we know, the "billing discrepancy" was a large amount. No one wants to treat someone who is behind on a bill, no human doctor would, either. It's unfortunate that that happened, but I cannot recommend this vet enough. I actually overheard them offering to carry someone's account for an expensive surgery on their dog, even though that is against their policy of payment due upon serv more

Great Vet With Staff at Reasonable Prices 1/16/2007

I think my visit today with my 2 dogs has been the least expensive vet visit in many years.\r The staff and veterinarians are very attentive. Many rescue groups use them as they have very reasonable prices. I would recommend them to anyone who needs a good general veterinarian for vaccinations, office checks, teeth cleaning, etc.\r If you live in the North Hollywood/Studio City/Burbank area this is a very convenient location and definitely much less expensive than most area vets. more

Aswome doctors they really care about the animals! 2/26/2006

I hate going to the vet so did my cat after she got in a nasty fight. But thanks to some real comon sence and a little tlc the vet not only eased our worries but gave her some antibiotics. She ( our cat) is now her normal pushy self. PROS: they really care CONS: none so far more

Dr Mark Hohne Best Vet Ever! 12/21/2005

Dog owner for over 30 years. Dr Mark Hohne is the best vet ever! He is very intuitive and extremely bright and a talented surgeon. I have 3 dogs and my 1 dog this was the 1st vet she ever took to and it was when she slipped her disc. She met him and loves him to pieces! That is unbelievable as most dogs never want to see the doctor. He has done surgeries on my dogs, and we have my dog with Cushings under control with natural medicine but he really monitors with his expertise. I cannot tell you enough as I really am the overprotective mom and need a vet that can make reasonable and sensible decisions! He is very fair in pricing! I am disabled and low income. I feel blessed to have found him. PROS: My dogs love him, intuitive, great surgeon, fair pricing! CONS: NONE more
