I've had fewer than 10 professional massages in my life. To me it's a very special and intimate thing, so I only take recommendations from friends on where to go to be treated. I'm pleased to share that I can happily recommend the "Repattern" treatment at EarthBody by Sheryl. My first experience of walking inside felt like I was entering a sacred, tranquil sanctuary for the body and spirit. Sheryl is a very conscious, and gifted healer. Dana, the receptionist is as well. They really are there to serve the customer and treat you with very attentive care. I went in with shoulders and my right forearm full of tension, and I came out with calm, relief. Everything in that space is very well thought out in terms of feng shui, lighting, temperature and atmosphere. You kind of have to prepare yourself to go back out the door onto the streets of Hayes valley. (I didn't want to leave). But when you do, you'll feel empowered and relaxed to take whatever comes your way. There are little pockets of heaven on earth in San Francisco, and EarthBody is truly one of them. more

I was running late, stuck in traffic for over an hour, and my neck is hard as a rock. Denmo was very understanding and didn?t give me the snutty attitude sometime you see with spas. She helped me relax and gave me many great advices about how to de-stress. Massage was great and at a reasonable price. Thumbs up! more

Whern I came to see Denmo, I was a wreck. Stress had taken over my life and I never thought I'd see the light of day again. But low and behold... I was wrong! Denmo is one of the most amazing women, you'll ever meet. Her aura and presence immediately calms and soothes... and her hands are a gift from the heavens! I NEVER fall asleep during massages but I actually was so relaxed that I woke up forgetting where I was! The emotional release that comes along with a session is intense... let me warn you! But I can honestly say that I am forever faithful to Denmo and Earthbody..... THEY ROCK!!! :) more

I cannot recommend Denmo and her services highly enough. I went in with a laundry list of things that were going on with me, physically and emotionally, as well as what I wanted to work on in this particular session (our first). She did a very thorough intake and then proceeded to address each of the points I'd mentioned in a massage tailored to my body with it's specific ailments. She helped me breath through much of the stored body stress while continually checking in with me about how it was going for me and if I needed anything different. In general, she is one of the most aware and present people I have ever met. She brings the whole force of her soul to bear on your problems and helping you achieve your goals for the session. She created a very warm, welcoming and safe environment for me, calling me "dear" as soon as I arrived and just being herself. Our session was a gift that I am very grateful I was able to give myself. (Be aware that her office is on the second floor of a commercial building and if the shops are closed the door will be locked and you'll need to wait for her to come get you.) more

Denmo's massage work is amazing. I am 6.5 months pregnant and I searched all over for the perfect pre-natal massage, and finally found one. I highly recommend her to anyone and especially pregnant Mom's. She is very soothing and knows the perfect ways to make you relax. Pros: Denmo focuses on your needs! Cons: N/A more

Denmo has magic hands. I am a loyal regular of Denmo's for massage and bodywork. I am completely confident in her ability to heal. I had a badly needed massage a few days ago with Denmo. My experience is that a powerful massage doesn't necessarily need to hurt. I used to like really deep massages--the kind that are like bad tasting medicine you have to suffer through. But it really takes a highly skilled and intuitive massage therapist to *coax* the knots out rather than *bust* them out. And that's what Denmo did. I told her exactly what I wanted and what needed the most work and she listened. And her vibrant, yet relaxed demeanor made me feel really comfortable. An extra tidbit: I asked her a little about what brought her to doing massage, and it turns out she's not just one of those massage therapists who "wants to help people" or "likes to touch people". She has an advanced background in a form of theater performance that has a lot to do with movement & tension in the body. It's obvious her expertise informs her work. She's all about the body, how it moves, and where it gets stuck. If you live or work in Hayes Valley, she is definitely the massage therapist to see. If you want to be in good hands, Denmo Ibrahim is the massage therapist to work with. Her intuitive sense of what your body needs allows you to relax and enjoy. The atmosphere is serene and when you're through you know you've not only done something good for your body but for your mind and heart as well. I look forward to working with her on a regular basis.
