OHMYGAWD!!! I have finally found GREAT soul food in LA. Dulan's Soul Food Kitchen rocks! I've been to other popular places and they are good but this food tastes like home. The green beans tasted just like my Aunt Ada's green beans. The fried chicken is fabulous and the collard greens are to die for. I kept feeling like I was back home in Baltimore. To top it off, the corn bread is great. It is only lightly sweetened, not overpowered with sugar. And the portions are big and the staff is very nice. It's a hike from my house to Inglewood, but this is THE place to go for soul food in LA. more

I usually go for the Sunday Dinner's, it is very affordable. This is a healthy side of soul food. It is not greasy or loaded with salt. This place is not meant for dinning in with a large group due to the small parking, however, this should not deter you from going here. The location is clean and the food is always fresh. They serve very large portions with the Sunday Dinner, it is literally enough to feed 4 people and will only cost you around $15 buck, oh this also includes dessert and a drink. By all means give it a try. more

The food was excellent. The parking over there is not too good.Their style is mostly buffet. I love the collard greens and yams. I did not care too much for their peach cobbler. It was to soggy. The service was excellent. more

I think the food here is great, I just hate waiting in long lines and this always seem to be the case at this place, which utimately is a good thing because you know people know the food is good!\r \r I think the employees could take a course in customer service. \r \r The servings are pretty decent as well. more

This is where you want to go for authentic ,great tasting hearty portion soul food !!!! 3/12/2008

And if you want to talk about it, the owner Adolf will sit right down with you! He is one of the nicest men you will ever meet. Portions are hearty, delicious , with a large menu to choose from and a great dessert menu to finish off with. Dine in or take out. Service is quick and friendly. They have managed to keep prices low, probably because they have remained small. Parking is minimal, but they need to open a few more, that would help. If you havent tried it, youre missing out. Treat yourself. Pros: The Food, prices, service Cons: parking more

Best Soul Food in Los Angeles 10/24/2006

The smoothered chicken, the greens, the cabbage - oh my God - the Peach Cobbler - ALMOST better than my mother's. An absolute must visit. I've tried almost everything on the menu - EVERYTHING is delicious! Pros: Good Service, Nice Staff members Cons: Parking more

Best Soul Food In LA 11/7/2005

I haven't had the opportunity to try a great number of soul food restaurant in Los Angeles, but of those I have, SFK definitely has the best food. I love the baked chicken and mac & cheese. On Sundays they have a full dinner for about $15 that includes dessert and a drink, three sides, cornbread muffins, and an entree--it's a great deal. It's a pretty small joint, not the place you want to go if you're looking for ambiance, but the food is outstanding and the service is usually pretty good. Pros: Great food, Quick Service Cons: Parking, Small Building more
