Editorial review from Citysearch 3/22/2014

DO YOURSELF A FAVOR AND DO NOT TAKE YOUR ANIMALS HERE EVER!!!!! Especially your cats because they forget they're even there. This is all coming from an inside source. It makes me sick the stories I've heard. Pay $15-20 for a bath where employees that are tired or lazy will just wet the dog and put cologne on it. Also the water cannot get even remotely warm because of ""how the building is"" but the dogs stand there freezing and shaking. When they're given specific instructions like to change a bandage every day, they didn't for 5 DAYS and the dog was yelping pain!! They pretty much don't follow ANY SPECIFIC instructions given for and of those sweet animals regarding meds or obviously wound care as well. They forgot to feed the cats for 3 days. One of the employees there smacked a dog in the face which that poor dog was forever terrified of him after that and cowards in the corner. The cats are crated all day and get no playtime. They work with several rescue foundations and I've been told that the dogs they're helping to rescue end up sitting in their own urine. Save yourself the trouble and PLEASE go elsewhere!!! more

Tucker's Favorite Holiday 5/22/2012

My most recent trip out of town was a last minute trip. I didn't have time to search for pet friendly lodging so I took Tucker to Dogma for a few days. He seemed to be well taken care of and even gained a pound or two! more

Yorkie Love 3/30/2011

My yorkie puppy Quinn loves Dogma! I take her there at least 2 days a week for daycare (usually taking advantage of $15 Wednesdays!) Initially, I was worried about her being too small to be in daycare, but Dogma has several other yorkies and other small breeds for her to play with in ""Puptown""! She gets so excited every time we walk through the door and the staff always greets her by name. It's amazing what a better dog she is, even on the days she has to stay at home b/c she gets out so much energy at daycare! Plus it's great for socialization--I'd recommend for any puppy! *Side note--Quinn had her first grooming experience at Dogma and the groomer did a great job! Quinn stayed calm and was a super good puppy b/c the groomer kept her at ease! I'm definitely going to be using her again and again! more

Wouldn't go anyplace else! 1/17/2011

We've been taking our pup here for 6 months! Everyone is great and our dog loves to go there. We've used the groomers several time also with great results. The web cams let you monitor your pet as much as you like. We attended puppy clicker training classes there and would recomend them also! I see some bad reviews from 2009. Don't know about back then, but we sure are happy with them in 2011! more

Awesome doggie daycare! 9/3/2010

My Frenchie absolutely adores this place. The staff is very friendly and go above and beyond for all of the dogs here. They knew both my dog and I after our first day there and make sure to always tell me what my dog has been up when I go to pick him up. We have used the daycare, boarding, and grooming parts and have been impressed. Someone mentioned that it was expensive but the prices are in line (if not cheaper!) than other places in the area--especially when compared to PetSmart that charges you for giving your dog a Kong! They are very receptive to various diets (they have no problem with feeding your dog a raw diet if that is what you choose--and that is hard to find). My dog runs into Dogma first thing in the mornings and usually refuses to leave because he is so happy there. I love the fact that I don't have to leave him in a crate all day and he gets to play with other dogs--and the humans that work there! And just in case you needed more--this is a company with a heart. These people also have a couple of foster dogs in there at any point in time. They don't take care of dogs for the money--they do it because they love dogs. more

Nice clean and friendly 8/22/2010

After living in the city and loving my doggie daycare I was nervous about looking for a new place OTP once I moved. After just a few times dropping off my dog for day play the employees knew my name and recognized my dog. The place is very clean and the dogs are in an open area all day. They are free to play outside in the yard or inside a large indoor area. They have lots of dogs playing together but everyone seems to get a long. Even in the hot summer I dont' worry about the care he is getting. I am so happy to have found this place for both day and over night care. more

cater to dogs' needs 11/30/2009

We don't have family who live in the Atlanta area, so we often travel out of town. I have 3 dogs - one geriatric lab, one crazy hound, and one spunky lab pup. We feel so blessed to have found Dogma. Due to the different personalities of my pets(one doesn't do well in an open boarding setting due to temperment, the old lab can't get around very well, and the pup loves to be around lots of dogs) Dogma works with us to find the best setting for all of my pets. I can leave them all and have peace of mind that their care will be specific to them. The 24 supervision is an added plus. I don't have to worry about the business closing at 6pm and the dogs being left unattended for 12 + hours. I would recommend Dogma to any of my friends. Pros: location, cleanliness, flexibility Cons: none that I can see more

Best Dog Care 11/29/2009

I have never been to a nicer place and I have been all over town. I don't believe the ugly remarks I've seen here. This is a brand new business run by loving caring staff. I know they strugled financially their first few months but the care they've given my pets has always been superb. They have customized the care for my dogs special needs and have always been willing to work with us financially wince we have multiple dogs. I think these mean remarks are just sour grapes! Too bad their missing out on the best dog care in town! Pros: Great Staff, Great Location more

Health of our dog a concern after Dogma 11/29/2009

Recently we left our pet with Dogma for another visit - a short weekend stay. The previous 2 times she stayed she would have diarreah, vomiting and stomach problems after we'd pick her up and we would call and they reassured us that it was the stress from being away. Well this time she is sick as ever vomiting and diarreah 4 times per day and has anti-social behavior. She didn't eat any of her food while at Dogma and she is limping and very depressed. She is sleeping constantly and I am very disappointed in Dogma. I do not understand how these signs could have gone unnoticed while we were away and we received no phone call saying she was acting unusual. We assume the dogs are left to play all day long (supervised of course) to the point of extreme exhaustion and have no idea why she has these stomach problems and anti-social behavior. We never had these problems with ""Pets are People Too"" the previous place we took her. We wanted to give them a try since they were a new local business but we can't recommend them to anyone. The price is extremely high for overnight boarding at $35 and having a sick dog after 3 days doesn't go over well with us. I don't know if other people have this problem or if it is just us. Our dog is wonderful with other animals and we have taken the proper steps in training her and making sure she is comfortable in many different situations. Cons: Exhaustion, Vomiting, Diarreah after stay more

HORRIBLE 9/28/2009

MANAGEMENT IS HORRIBLE THERE. PEOPLE I KNOW THAT WORK THERE GET PAID A WEEK LATE. THEY DONT CARE ABOUT THEIR EMPLOYEES ONE BIT. ALL THAT MATTERS IS THAT THEY MAKE MONEY. THE PRICE I HAD TO PAY FOR MY DOG TO STAY AN AFTERNOON IS OUTRAGEOUS. THE PLACE IS ALWAYS BUSY, SO THEY GOTTA BE MAKIN ALOT OF MONEY. THERE IS ABSOLUTELY NO REASON TO PAY YOUR HARD WORKING EMPLOYEES A WEEK LATE. THEY ALREADY DONT MAKE ENOUGH MONEY. I HOPE YOU CONSIDER ANOTHER OPTION FOR YOUR PUPS. THE EMPLOYEES ARE GREAT BUT THE MANAGER...I THINK HIS NAME IS CHRIS OR SOMETHIN IS AN IDIOT. UNTIL MANAGEMENT IS REPLACED DO NOT WASTE YOUR TIME AND MONEY AT THIS HOLE. JUST MY OPINION. Cons: ALL more

Wish You Were a Dog! 8/11/2009

Dogma Dog Care sounds like a really fun place for dogs to hang out when their people are away working and doing other boring stuff. Cause if it was fun stuff, they'd be taking the dog along for sure. Next time you have to leave your four-footed friend behind, give them a call! Tell them Shelly at All-Star Chem-Dry told you about Dogma . . . and let us know if we can help you clean up any pet urine accidents or pawprints for you too! Pros: Fun for Dogs Cons: Owners miss out on all the fun more

DO NOT GO HERE. THEY ALLOW AGGRESSIVE DOGS & ARE NEGLIGENT 6/17/2009

6/9/2010: I have actually written a great review for Dogma Dog Care a while ago. I've even referred my friends to take their dogs here. However, a couple months ago, one of my friends that I referred had her dog attacked and bitten by a Doberman named Pharaoh. She never received a phone call from Dogma, she had to call to find out why her dog had puncture holes. She was told the dog would not be allowed there anymore. Then, when I took my dog there shortly after the incident, I was told they were going to keep the dog, Pharaoh, in the small dog section so it wouldn't feel intimidated by the big dogs!! So I requested that my dog be nowhere near this agressive dog & was so shocked that they would allow that dog to continue daycare. That was the last time I took my dog there for daycare. Today, the same friend picks her dogs up from Dogma and discovers blood on her car seat & puncture wounds all over her dog. No one even bothered to call her!!! After much questioning, she finally got the information out from Dogma... it was the same dog that attacked her dog! Unbelievable. Our pets are like family to us & I just cannot imagine why anyone would take their pets here after this story. It's just not worth the risk to have your pets stay here all day under negligent care. I am so embarrassed that I recommended Dogma to my friends and will never take my dog here again. I understand that accidents happen, but Dogma was extremely negligent and did not handle this incident properly. Pros: Great Location,Very Clean Atmosphere Cons: Negligent Care more

Best Doggy Daycare in Atlanta 4/9/2009

I just boarded my dogs at dogma and they loved it. The inside is so nice and there is no smell like some dog boarding facilities. I like the fact that my dogs can stay inside or go outside. I was very impressed with the level of professionalism and knew my dogs would be in good hands. They have suites if you want your dogs to stay together just like home. Pros: Clean, Spa Like, Friendly Staff more
