Best Brunch in Town! 3/16/2010

Every weekend I struggle on where to go to breakfast. Either it's too far away or the food is just so-so. Last Saturday my friend and I tried The Dodo's brunch and were really impressed. They start your meal out with complimentary fresh baked muffins which I thought was a nice touch. My coffee was constanly re-filled without asking, and my friend said her Bloody Mary was ""to die for"". I had the Fenton omelette which was one of the best omelettes I've had in a long time. The service was fast, friendly and efficient- a definate plus to the Salt Lake weekend brunch scene! Pros: Fast and friendly staff, great food more

Delicious Food, Great Service! 2/18/2010

We went to The Dodo to celebrate my birthday and had a wonderful time! There were 6 of us and my 2 year old. We all ordered something different and each meal was delicious! We had the Red Pepper Hummus appetizer and it was delicious. The kids menu is the best I've seen at any restaurant, it is very healthy and has unique options. We ordered 4 desserts and each one was delectable! The portions are huge and we took food home. Our server was right on top of things, our water was refilled constantly and never ran dry, she was very friendly and accomadating of my active 2 year old. Will go back soon! Pros: Desserts! Great menu, awesome service Cons: None! more

Bad food on multiple occasions. 1/21/2010

My girlfriend and I ate at the dodo tonight and it was the second time I have left there feeling nauseated. My girlfriend also had a bad experience there at a breakfast/brunch. The meals are overpriced when compared the the quality of food. The ahi steak I ordered was severely undercooked and the pasta I had tonight was served in a pool of liquid and tasted very bland. Tonight was the first time I have refused to eat a dish and sent it back. For fifteen to twenty dollars per plate you can do much better Salt Lake. Pros: Good polenta appetizer Cons: Overpriced drinks and undercooked fish more

What a lousy place!!!!I 12/30/2009

What a lousy place!!!!I don't thing this place will be open for a long time.I took a guest there from out of town and i was intimidated. This people don't have a clue about food wine or service!!! And this Aaron -Manager what a joke!!!! Definitely this place needs a professional to do an overhaul there!!! Pros: nice bulding Cons: food service managment more

Save room for dessert! 7/30/2009

I've been to DoDo by SugarHouse twice in the last two months. The food is really, really good and the prices are reasonable. I'm a fan of quiche and it's not often on the menu. Their quiche is very yummy. Also, you must save room for dessert. Their pies are great..try the TollHouse Cookie Pie! The DoDo has both indoor and outdoor seating. It's the kind of restaurant that is both casual and classy at the same time with an electic selection of menu choices. Pros: Food great; desserts awesome; courteous servers more

Good food except for the insect 6/19/2007

I ate the steak salad and thought it tasted great until I found a six-legged creature half way into eating my salad. I pointed it out to the waitress and she took my salad to the back. Instead of offering to make a new salad or new entree, I was left with nothing to eat. She didn't even apologize nor was there a manager around. She brought the check and I had to pay for the salad!!! I even wrote the restaurant and I have not heard back from them. Horrible service!!!! more

Disastrous. 2/15/2007

We tried Harry's during it's first week of operation: horrible service, unexceptional food. more

Great Staff--Not so great restaurant 1/10/2007

My boyfriend and I had a meal at Harry's one of my last trips to Salt Lake. The space is very aurtere--SUPER high ceilings, and smooth leather seats. We started with the usual over priced SMALL Salt Lake City martini, then moved onto crab cakes and our dinners. I had the Swordfish special--a blackened over cooked mess, and my boyfriend had a steak--very much on the average side. The cost was high for the level of care in both presentation and taste of food. Our server was adequate and pleasant enough. more

best neighborhood restaurant in years 10/24/2006

I don't know what happened the day nixieut went into Harry's in Sugarhouse but that has never been my experience. The ambiance matches the food note for note. The service can be a little week with a slacker attitude but everyone is always really nice and accomodating. The steaks taste as good as I've ever had and the drinks are never watered down (which is illegal in utah anyway!). They make great cocktails and the wine list, although short, is very appropriate for the fare they serve. Pros: Off street parking, great value, large portions Cons: short wine list more

What is up with this place 8/29/2006

The ultra-contemporary atmosphere brought out my adventurous side to try a cocktail even though it was only 5:30, but my watered down martini didn't appease my craving. Then the food came. Does Latitude think we are all dumb enough to be fooled by flashy couches & funky lighting, and fork out a pile of dough for sushi that tastes like it was rolled at mikado and brought over last night? I think we all deserve a bit more from the conglomerate who feeds us at such a grand scale. The rolls were layed on the plates sideways to give the illusion of more food. No matter. Made it less akward to leave it on the plate, even though I didn't want to offend my greasy-haired waitress. The saving grace was the decently tasting and decently priced veggie plate. more
