One of the best BBQ joints in the whole country...including the south 10/16/2006

Dinosaur has it all for BBQ. There is nothing on the menu that anyone can talk smak about, but rather smak their lips at as soon as it hits the table. Amazing food, great blues music all the time, and really fun staff makes this restaurant/bar a must see for anyone in the area and even those not in the area. Make your way here and you will not forget it. Pros: The staff, the food, the atmosphere...all these things make the Dinosaur BBQ " a Genuine Honkey Tonk Rib Joint" Cons: sometimes over a half hour wait...but totally worth it. more

Pork Pride 8/21/2006

After eating Carolina Barbecue for the past three years, this ranks up there with the best pork ever. The brisket is decent, but go straight for the excellent pulled pork or ribs and their delicious tender smokiness. My wife had the chicken once, but quickly returned to the pork--our favorite is the pulled pork sandwich with cheese--a masterful combination. Wash it down with a cold pint of Labatt's or Syracuse Ale. If you have one meal in Syracuse, eat it here. And don't worry about the line, it moves quickly! Great BBQ, long wait, rushed meal 7/4/2006

If you are a fan of BBQ, then you will really enjoy the food at Dinosaur. Unfortunately it is extremely crowded, service is on the rude side. When I ate there (dined is too nice a word such this place) after we waited well over an hour for a table they rushed us out almost as soon as our meals were served. Dinosaur is the best 4/15/2006

Dinosaur BBQ has the best BBQ around. The only problem is the food is so good you can expect a half hour to an hour wait on a weeknight. On a Friday or Saturday night it will be packed and can take a very long time to get a table. However, it's worth it. The best thing to do is go to the bar, grab a seat (you may have to wait till someone leaves -- be prepared to swoop in), and just enjoy the music, atmosphere, and great beer... What is there to say that hasn't already been said. Cool atmosphere, best blues music in the city, real bikers, awesome food. Come by in the summer and sit outside. In all honesty, if you are anywhere within a 50 mile radius of this Syracuse treasure and don't make you way here, you are missing out. It goes without saying that Dino's ribs are, by far, the best that I've ever had. My friends and I are on a constant quest to find better ones and always fail. The side dishes are varied but their pasta salad is the absolute best. If you want to get a good sampling of their fine meats, order the Tres Hombre (sp?). You'll get a portion of sliced steak, pulled pork and a quarter rack of their ribs. Don't bother with trying for reservations. They don't take 'em. Try to go on a Saturday for dinner and you're best bet is to put your name down, walk over to a pub in nearby Armory Square, and return. It's well worth it.
