Dinner House M is a chill bar/lounge filled with a fairly modest, chill, non-Hollywood crowd (i.e., Ed Hardy attire not required and probably not recommended). As you park your vehicle (plenty of free street parking) and make your way into the venue, it's as though you walked into an extremely large and prestigious living room from the 1980's. Dinner House M has been around for over 25+ years and the decor probably hasn't changed much from its inception. However, the ambiance and the mood is fantastic, which ultimately enhances the unique vibe. I've been frequenting this place since I was first introduced some time last year. Upon entering you are greeted by a host, which there's typically a small cover during the later hours, you're then granted access and can choose to sit at the bar or grab a seat at one of the many couches throughout. As you sit you are welcomed with fresh popcorn (genius) and offered a drink from the plethora of alcohol choices from the bar or can order a bite to eat from their menu. Typically there's an eclectic crowd of regulars which come to socialize and groove to the assorted genres of music (dependent on each night). The furniture, the decorated ceilings, the vibe, and the music are what make this an obvious hidden gem within the heart of LA. The best nights for me personally are the 1st and 3rd Saturday of every month. Furthermore, the bartenders are awesome, the drinks are inexpensive, strong and the service is quick- exactly how I like it. Plus, a bottle of any type of alcohol is not ridiculously priced and if you don't finish it...it's not a problem, they'll save it for your next arrival. Japanese service at its finest!
