A very nice day at the zoo! 10/28/2005

We heard about the Dickerson Park Zoo's free day. This seemed a perfect way to check out the zoo, without a huge cost. Now that we've experienced the zoo, we know that it will be worth the money to visit more regularly. They zoo has a nice website also, where you can keep up to date on what is going on during each month. We were impressed mostly with how clean the zoo was kept. more

Great zoo, has made big improvements 9/4/2005

This is a great zoo and they have a a variety of exhibits and different types of animals here. For a smaller town zoo, it's a great gem that you must visit especially if you have children. There is a small admission fee but parking is free and fairly abundant. There is also a playground and park facilities right next to the Zoo so you can have a picnic lunch if you want. Don't miss the monkey island which is probably the most notable attraction at the Zoo. more

Community Zoo 7/19/2005

If you need to entertain the kids for a couple hours, this is a great choice. Dickerson's Zoo is a small zoo, but there are many different animals to see, they even boost a petting zoo, for all the animal friendly people out there. They also offer a wide range of different food and snacks on site. This is a great after school or summer activity. PROS: kids love it CONS: bad part of town more

Nice place 6/10/2005

I love going to the Dickerson Park zoo. It is not so big that you get lost, but it is still big enough to make a good afternoon trip out of it. I recommend this zoo as a fun family outing! more
