Editorial review from Citysearch 10/7/2012

The agents of Logan Family Properties are true professionals who focus their efforts solely on their clients. In working with LFP, they were extremely patient and accommodating in helping us find a home as well as working with us when dealing with our unique situation. Because of LFP, I felt comfortable in providing stability for my family. Their word is their bond and I highly recommend them for any real estate needs. more

Negative Mgmt Co.!!! 12/23/2011

Very disorganized, negative, lacks appropriate responding time, terrible and negative communication, and unwilling to work with in you. Criag in particular has a short and negative attitude. Making things easier for him and not for the renters is what he thinks is appropriate.Word of advice in the business world, positive and better responsive time will in fact make a renter feel better about talking to you. more

AWESOME EXPERIENCE!!!! 10/28/2011

Craig is the best!!!!! From the moment he showed the home and all the services he has provided to us, he was awesome! The most appreciated part about Craig was that he was very attentive and UNDERSTANDING of our needs. He never said anything negative about us or our decisions, or even what we value. He listened and understood us. Class act and great service!!! Thank you Craig more

friendly, reliable and very professional 7/6/2011

as a tenant with Dick Logan & friends for the past 4years I add my voice to those who have been more than satisfied with their efficient & friendly management style. Whenever supportive action was necessary they were right on it - no excuses just good business practice. Over the years, I've dealt with many real estate management companies - they are the best I've encountered. more

The best property management company in San Diego 6/1/2011

I have been a tenant with Dick Logan & Friends for the last eight years in three different properties. Through this entire time Craig Logan and his staff have always been courteous, helpful and professional. The properties have always been well maintained and the few repairs needed (mostly plumbing) have been repaired quickly and correctly. I recommend their company all the time to prospective tenants and also to propery owners looking for someone to manage their rental properties. Dick Logan & Friends is a friendly, family owned and well run business and in my opinion the best property management company in San Diego.Give them a try you will not be dissapointed. more

Don’t a lease with them if the house is not in good conditio 5/7/2011

We are currently renting from them and we have had problems from the first day we’ve moved in to the home. We rented the house with the assumption and agreement things would be fixed because at the time when we saw the house, the floors were being refurbished. We asked for some things to be fixed and they told me they would have it done (I figured since they are fixing floors theym would fix the other stuff). When we first moved in, we did not except the house and tried to get out of the lease but they did not let us out of the lease. They fixed some of the problems, but only to discover there we even more problems. Which they are planning on fixing. They keep giving us one excuse after another on why there are so many problems. We feel like we found a slum lord in a house that is in good neighborhood. We are paying good money for problems. As a military family we move a lot so it’s not like this is our first rental. It is the first time for us have an agency not do what they said they were going to do before we moved in to the house. more

Not a good first impression for prospective tenant 4/10/2011

I'm a business owner in a service oriented industry and building customer relationships is priority AND the product that I sell should be up to par. I don't feel I got that from this company. I was looking for a home to rent while my home was on the market so I found a home at a good price listed by this agency on craigslist. Positives first: The home looks good on the OUTSIDE. The person I was dealing with got back to me quickly via email. Negatives: 1. The email he sent stated for me to come by the next morning at a certain time without giving me time to respond. That's a negative. You should always make arrangements with your prospective renter first. Of if you will have an open house, make sure you state that on your ad. 2. When I did show up at another time that was agreed, he did not formally greet me or tell me his name. That's a BIG negative. Whether you are renting an apartment or a house, you always greet your customers. If another prospective tenant was there at the same time as me and I would have seen him greet them and not me, I could have easily filed a discrimination lawsuit. 3. When we walked in the house, all the appliances were ripped out, the carpet a mess and an odor permeated through the house. When you rent a house, make sure you make all the repairs first BEFORE you list it and if you don't , make sure you list that on your advertisement. 4. When he asked me when my move out date was and I told him it was about over a month out, he mentioned that he wished I would have told him that so he wouldn't have wasted my time coming out. But to me, the tone of his voice suggested he was more annoyed that I wasted his time. That is a big NO-NO. Regardless of what my move out date was, he should still treat me the same as he would any other tenant that would be moving sooner. Overall, my first impression of this property management company is not good. They need to improve their service skills and their product skills. more

Purchase Renters Insurance 3/12/2010

We would like to address the negative review from em2009. We at Dick Logan & Friends, Inc. (DLF) realize that the review was written out of frustration. The author of the review is the mother of a great family and they were great tenants. They took excellent care of the house and left it in great condition. \r \r The review is a great example of why tenants should purchase Renters Insurance. The family did not have Renters Insurance. We did send the family’s claim to the Owners insurance company, but it was denied. We were told that their claim should be sent to the carrier of the tenant’s Renters Policy, which they did not have.\r \r Tenants: please use this example as a reminder to purchase Renters Insurance. Most leases will have a clause similar to the one in our lease:\r \r INSURANCE: Tenant’s or guest’s personal property and vehicles are not insured by Landlord, manager or, if applicable, HOA, against loss or damage due to fire, theft, vandalism, rain, water, criminal or negligent acts of others, or any other cause. Tenant is advised to carry Tenant’s own insurance (renter’s insurance) to protect Tenant from any such loss or damage. Tenant shall comply with any requirements imposed on Tenant by Landlord’s insurer to avoid: (i) an increase in Landlord’s insurance premium (or Tenant shall pay increase in premium); or (ii) loss of insurance.\r \r It is said that one of the most difficult and testing times for any marriage is when a couple is constructing a new house. Now imagine how difficult it would be coordinating construction between a Landlord and a Tenant. DLF did our best to coordinate between insurance companies, insurance adjusters and the many different trades that are involved with putting a house back together after a large flood. \r \r RENTER’S: PLEASE PURCHASE RENTER’S INSURANCE \r \r The DLF Staff\r Pros: Family Owned more

Despicable Property Management Company-DO NOT RENT FROM THEM 2/12/2010

If I could give a negative star rating I would. This company should not be operating at all. They lie, are slow in repairing things/returning phone calls/resonding to coorespondance (they don't respond to letters), they hired a horrible company called Quickserv who hired VERY shady and VERY RUDE people to do repairs when they actually get around to doing them (a plumber they hired commented on my breasts after asking me if I was breast feeding our child and then proceeded to tell me dirty jokes, when I stopped by the house during they drying phase I found a worker in our backyard sleeping on our patio chairs!!!!)--things also came up missing after repairs were done from the flood. They have no regard for their tenants privacy, well being or property--they moved all of our furniture OUTSIDE to the backyard, uncovered, unsecured...WE moved it into the garage and when we came to pick up things they just left the garage door open, people could come and go as they pleased--and even left it open when it was pouring down rain!! We lived in a property they managed and a flood occured (4 inches of water all over the first floor)--we were kicked out of our home for over 30 days and we only asked for reimbursment for expenses above and beyond our normal daily rent . The landlords are so greedy they fixed the house but felt ZERO obligation to even pay for utilities while we were not able to live there (and they were running drying equipment and had the heat cranked up with the windows open--WHY ARE WE RESONSIBLE FOR THAT!!!) Dick Logan did nothing but serve us with a 3 day notice when we decided to recover the expenses by not paying rent (this is a tenant right our lawyer has assured us of this)--we tried to be communicative and reasonable--we emailed, sent letters, and even had a personal meeting with Shaun Uebelhor in which he assured us we would be reimbursed. He told us not to pay rent and told us to submit receipts and expenses we incurred and he would present them to the owner and we would come to an amicable agreement--when we did this they served us with a 3 day notice! We entered into legal action and settled (their accusations/3 day notice were considered retaliatory and the 3 day notice is considered invalid) with the landlord--now they are violating our rights to an exit inspection and are trying to keep our security deposit. We did NOTHING wrong except exercise our rights as tenants and expected to be reimbursed for the extra money we had to pay because they didn't maintain the plumbing--we had to pay for living accomodations, extra travel to and from the condo for our mail and packages, clothing, etc., we had no access to our home office, our daughters nursery (7 month old baby without a room or a crib for over a month!) and then they think we are in the wrong. What is wrong with these people!!!! DO NOT RENT FROM THEM...they have no compassion or understanding of California tenant rights. All we did was expect to be reimbursed for extra money that we HAD to pay for living expenses that aren't in our normal budget--why are we at fault for their negligence?! \r \r Might I add that we own property as well (we have property insurance that would cover our tenants extra expenses if such a thing should happen to them--any homeowner/landlord should have this) and have tenants and we would NEVER treat our tenants the way we have been treated. In fact we go out of our way to make sure our tenants are happy, comfortable, and have a safe home to live in--we believe it is our responsibility to do this since they are paying us a significant amount of money to live there, not to mention their rights to a habitable, safe home to live in. Pros: absolutely none! Cons: absolutely everything they do is a con! more

Failure of a management company. 8/22/2009

They did not follow contract details. We had mold under our sink and it took them 2 weeks to fix problem leaving us with no kitchen. Very rude when you tell them of an issue and it takes them forever to resolve it. I would look for a different apartment if they are managing yours. Pros: They answer their phone Cons: Takes very long to get things done when needed and rude. more
