Hands down my favorite dessert is pie and when I heard that the Dessert Shoppe has really good pie I decided to venture over and try it out. Unfortunately they had run out of pie but my sadness was quickly quenched when I saw what else they had. Eclairs, tarts, cupcakes, cake, cookies, and various other sweet treats lined the display case and seemed to press their tempting faces up to the glass and beckon me to purchase them. Since they didn't have lemon meringue pie I tried the lemon meringue tart. Really good stuff! The meringue was more akin to marshmallow creme than meringue but there's nothing wrong with that and the crust was perfect; crisp and flaky. I think the lemon filling may have been a bit lacking in the lemon depart but it tasted good nonetheless. I also tried a cupcake topped with vanilla icing and pistachios. It seemed to be your standard cupcake, nothing too exciting here. Good but not remarkable. I finished it off with a White Chocolate Chip Macadamia cookie. It tasted just right. I believe it had coconut in it and other cookies of this type that I've tried before hadn't so that was a nice twist.
Apart from the food the shop was nice looking and clean and the staff was more than friendly. It looked like there is plenty of room to seat down and enjoy your desserts there. It was a great experience and I'm looking forward to going back to sample the other tempting treats!
Pros: Desserts. What's not to like about desserts??
Cons: You'll want to go back often.
