Do not use this company 7/25/2019

So I will start off stating that I did not rent from Desert wave limo. My two sons attended our local type one diabetes camp. The camp rented the limousine service to take the kids from camp to the waterpark and back. On the way back to camp my son left his medical device on the limo. The camp called the limo service and I was told to meet at the place of business. When I arrived Kim Jones the owner got out of his vehicle in a very frantic manic demeanor stating he had looked through the limo thoroughly and did not find it and did not understand why we needed to look through the limo. I explained that it’s a medical device that its small and we would just like to confirm it is not there. He then started questioning my son in a nasty frantic manner that I was not comfortable with. He asked us to move so he could pull the limo back enough for us to get in. When we moved over to the next parking spot he said frantically several times there’s an oil spot there, don’t stand in the oil spot. None of us were standing in the oil spot. Then he again in a nasty frantic manor told my son if he steps on the oil he will not be getting in the limo. At this point I knew there was going to be an issue. He opens the door and both of my sons start to get in the limo he threw his hand out before my second son could get in and said you don’t need to get in don’t touch anything. My other son quickly got out of the limo and I decided to get into check. I set my four-year-old son on the seat and climbed in. He freaked out and told me He didn’t need to be in the vehicle and to not touch anything. I turned around and asked him to stop being so rude and to not to talk to my children any longer. He then started calling me psycho and .., In front of my 3 boys. My four-year-old yelled at him at one point telling him to stop being mean to his mommy. Every time he said something to my children I told him he needed to not speak to my children. He told me to get out of the limo and that I was not going to look for my sons medical device. I said that is ridiculous and attempted to look for the device. He then told my four-year-old son that he was going to call the cops on his psychopath mommy. This man is disgusting and vile. I don’t understand how he is still in business after reading everyone else’s reviews. It seems this man is belligerent and rude to all of his customers. DO NOT USE DESERT WAVE LIMO. more

Horrible experience - Do Not Use 2/16/2018

The most horrible experience ever. The owner, Kim Jones, and his girlfriend manager, Jennifer Gessner, were both belligerent and rude. I called on a Tuesday to get a limo for Saturday. 45 min after my initial call, I had to cancel because of issues with too many girls going to the dance. Kim absolutely flipped out. Screaming at me about how he had a no cancellation policy, how I should have known that, and it was too bad for me - that he was getting my money one way or another. That if I reversed the charges he would take me to small claims court and win, he stated that he always wins. I said, hold up, you never explained any policy to me..... He became so loud and rude it was frightening. He continued on threatening me, saying he would sit outside my house, or I had to pay him more for a bigger vehicle. Ya right. Like I wanted him driving my children around at this point. He put his girlfriend on the phone who did nothing but scream about my ignorance and unprofessional behavior ( because Kim had said that during the time I initially called and when I cancelled, someone else had called to rent the limo and because of me he lost that opportunity...my suggestion was to call those people back and say he had a cancellation. This according to Kim was unprofessional and "stupid" behavior, that he does not call people back. I was really taken back by this comment. I know many doctors that do it, hair dressers that do it, orthodontist that do it, attorneys that do it....they all have cancellation lists). She then passed the phone back to Kim. Wow, being called ignorant and stupid by a limo company simply because within less than an hour I needed to cancel their service and rightfully wanted my money back. Since when are people forced to pay for services they did not render? At this point it's not really about the money per se, it is the principle. He never gave me any type of cancellation policy, I did not sign anything, initial anything, and nothing is posted on his website. His only concern during the entire initial conversation was to make a sale. However, he finally said since he had a week he would try to rent it out for the same amount and maybe would let me "off the hook." I decided to test that and had two people call in to ask about renting the limo for the same timeframe....he was, at that point, giving out the limo for half price or $250 and $300. He, though I didnt use his service, was never given a contract, a list of policies, or even a receipt, still charged me $525. He was never going to do the right thing and get another renter so that he would not charge me. He was trying to make additional money on top of the money he knew he was going to keep for free. I have now filed complaints with the Better Business Bureau, the WA state attorney generals office, my bank, and the WA state department of licensing. I will never NOR would I ever recommend this limo service. I would not trust him to drive anyone I knew or loved around town. His erratic behavior was nothing short of frightening and his customer service, or lack there of, leaves much to be desired as well. And one question....I see the owner, Kim jones, posted one of the only positive reviews on this site. It is appropriate for owners and managers to be posting reviews of their own company? Doesnt that defeat the purpose of a review. Guess some companies missed Ethics 101. more

UNPROFESSIONAL AND RUDE 5/4/2016

My Girl Scout troop consisting of 8-10 year olds booked this limo service for a big night they had been having. They paid for 3 hours, in which an hour and a half they were to be driven around town. None of them had ever been in a limo before so it was supposed to be really special. The driver was extremely courteous and made our girls feel very special, but he was brand new (he said it was his first time driving a limo). As such, he could not get the radio to work. It only made sound in the front with him. The lights and AC did not work and there was no water or drinks for kids, which I was told by Kim were complimentary. We would have paid for them if we were told we needed to. Kim also tried very hard to switch our party reservation from Monkey Dooz to his similar business (he did not disclose to me that it was his business...I found that out by reading other reviews). I called 2 days later to let Kim know that there were problems. I never demanded a refund or anything, and after I told him of the problems he began accusing me of not calling soon enough and telling me on the phone that he was turning everything on in the limo as we spoke. Every single time I tried to speak he yelled at me and would not let me talk. I work at an elementary school and I was getting very embarrassed at his rude behavior and tried to tell him I did not call to be yelled at. After sitting on the phone making no headway with him I hung up because my break was over. He still has not emailed me the receipt I asked him to send me after explaining that my troop needs it for their expense records. I can't believe that any of these 5 star reviews are even paying customers. One of them is even named the same name as the owner...I'd never recommend this business. more

Terrible 3/30/2013

We booked our daughter's birthday party with another business in town, and part of the package was a limo ride. Unfortunately, it was with these bozos. We had a bad experience with them previously, and if I had known that was who it was I would have said no. My wife called the day before to confirm the package, and had the misfortune of speaking with Kim, the owner. His biggest concern was apparently the tip the driver would receive, since that was not included in the price of the package. My wife was not aware of this, and told him so, which he apparently took to mean that we were not going to pay it. After some discussion, my wife was under the impression that it was worked out, and we would pay the tip. The next day, none other than Kim himself showed up at my door. Unwisely, I loaded my daughter, her six friends, my wife, and her 2 friends into the limo, and then came along separately to the party, which was a HUGE mistake. When I arrived, my wife was almost in tears because of how Kim treated her. His story was that none of his drivers were willing to take the job, because he told them they might not get tipped. My wife offered him the tip when they arrived at the party location, but he continued to berate and belittle her. Kim is apparently the owner of the building the other business is in, and so tried to get my daughter's birthday party CANCELLED AFTER THEY ARRIVED at the party location, in front of my daughter and her friends. He also spoke to several of the 7-9 year olds AT THE PARTY about my wife, saying things like "tell mommy to stop being mean to me" and "looks like mommy had some pills before she came to the party." When I called him later on to express my displeasure with his poor service, he hung up on me! When I called him later on to express my displeasure with his poor service, he hung up on me! When he finally did stay on the phone, he had the audacity to accuse my wife of using drugs or being drunk, and that she was rude to him! This guy deserves to go out of business. more

Unprofessional and extremely rude! 4/18/2010

My daughter booked a limo for her sisters bachelorette party. Kim (the owner) called her and offered her an upgrade to the hummer for an addional fee, but lower than the going rate (obviously because he had not rented it to someone else and it would give him extra $). He indicated that the hummer would hold 22 people. The girls decided that because the limo would hold up to 22 people that they would invite 5 of the guys from the bachelorette party to ride along (making a total of 17). Assumed it wouldn't be a problem since he offer the hummer indicating it would hold 22 people (he never mentioned that they couldn't increase the # of people). He arrived and started counting people and immediately (and very rudely) indicated that this just wasn't going to work. After trying to talk to him calmly and trying to negotiate with him, he insisted on another $200.00 for the additional 5 people. I have never experienced a business professional (I would not say he is professional at all) that is so extremely rude and obnoxious. We were able to arrange a limo (out of Hermiston) to pick them up later. Everything worked out, but he sure added stress and drama to an otherwise happy event. I would never recommend this company to anyone and would highly recommend you call any other limo service in the area. more

Thanks for helping make our wedding so wonderful 4/2/2010

My husband and myself used Desert Wave for the biggest AND best day of our life's, our wedding! Both limos we used were beautiful. One stretched black Hummer limousine, and gorgeous white stretched Hummer. The tall gentlemen at the counter made booking easy and the drivers were very friendly. Thanks Desert Wave for helping make our big day so wonderful! Can't wait to use you again! more

WONDERFUL TIME, BEAUTIFUL HUMMER LIMO 4/2/2010

My first experience with Desert Wave was booking their white stretched limo for my bachelorette party. It would be an understatement to say the limousine was beautiful. My girls and I had a great time. The driver was very patient in dealing with us ladies (we may have had a bit too much to drink). Oh yes, my now husband had used the Black Stretched Limo the same night and loved it as well. Thank you again more

HORRIBLE LIMO SERVICE! 3/14/2009

Ended up using Redneck Limos in Benton City and they were amazing. I called and booked a party with desert wave. We ended up not being able to do it the day I booked. They said no problem and cancelled, but then 1 month later debited the money out of our account! Won't give it back. I am contacting BBB today! DON'T USE THEM! more

Best limousine service ever. 2/20/2009

Took my friends on a Walla Walla wine tour. Rented Desert Wave's big black Hummer limo. Its was great. Nice limo, top service. They even beat their competition's prices and offered a better limo. I've used other limo services before and Desert Wave Limo Service has been the best I've ever used. more

Renter Beware! 11/20/2007

After calling Desert Wave Limousine and booking a limo five days in advance we ended up needing to cancel. We called to cancel two days later and the girl was more than happy to take care of this! There was no confirmation upon booking, and none during cancelation. The following week, I noticed two charges. One for the $80 holding fee and another for $340. After speaking with Kim (the owner), he informed me they showed up at the house at 10AM as scheduled and the limo was never canceled. There were eight people (myself included) at the house until 10AM. We got into the rental car and left at 10AM. Throughout the entire day, this company never called my cell phone to say they were there and I did not expect them to be - since I canceled. I tried to split the cost (having him refund 1/2 of the charges for the unused limo) and he continued to call me a liar. He went on to say that while he was not always around, he was sure the two girls were "detail oriented" and he could not believe they would not cancel a request. He ended the call with "Do not call here again" and hung up on me. If you use him, be sure you do not need a change of plans and do not expect the customer to ever be right. If he does not agree - then you are just a liar. more

Desert Wave Limousine 7/9/2005

On our parents last anniversary all of us chipped in and got them a limo for the night. Desert Wave Limousine wasn't very expensive at all compared to some of the other limo rental places around town. From the thanks we got from our parents when they returned we know that they had a great time. This is the one limo service that we know that we can count on for proms. more
