Worst

I hate to even give this any kind of a star. The play ""bipolar express"". was lame and boring. Seemed like something my kids would have put on or you would see at an amature high...

Desert Star Theater 9/20/2006

This is such a fun place to go to. They are a playhouse, but they also serve snacks and dinner. You sit and watch the play at a table. The plays are comical and fun to watch. They aren't really serious dramas. When we went, we watched a play making fun of the movie "Legally Blonde." Then at the end they had a sing a long. It was a fun night. The price is around $15 a person. If you want to have a full dinner in the dinner theatre it is around $30 a person. more

Great food Great Theater 10/14/2005

So you want a good, wholesome night on the town that all the kids will enjoy. Well it's at Desert Star Theater and Steakhouse. They have some of the funniest spoofs on current plays and movies, not to mention great food. Make sure you order the sweet potatoes on the side when you order your steak. They are amazing. more

Desert Star Theater is Hilarious! 8/15/2005

The Desert Star Theater is located on State St in Murray, it is a central location and the entertainment his hilarious. They take fairly popular movies and then make a spoof play about it. Such shows have been, My big Fat Utah wedding, Harry Podder and wheres my wand dude. They are a great way to spend the evening if you like that kind of humor. They are very professional, and do a great job. There is also a resturant there but I have never tried it so I can not really recommend that. But the shows I give two thumbs up!!! more

Editorial
  • The Scene
Decorating the barn-like dining room are old-time Western photos, patriotic bunting and a mural featuring a covered wagon. Meals are served at picnic tables covered with red-and-white checkered tablecloths, while country-western music plays in the background. It's the kind of place where servers call you "hon" and conversation may be interrupted by raucous birthday celebrations.

    The Food
From a 6-oz tenderloin to a 2-lb porterhouse, grilled steaks dominate the menu. Fork-tender barbecue--chicken, pork ribs, smoked sausage--comes with extra sauce for dipping and a warm washcloth to wipe your sticky fingers. Fresh sourdough bread, a cup of chunky homemade soup or a mixed green salad (try the surprisingly spicy chipotle ranch dressing), and cumin-accented ranch beans accompany each entree. Baked potatoes are extra and fries are not available. Dessert choices are limited to apple and razzleberry cobblers or a brownie sundae, served warm with vanilla bean ice cream.
