Favorite sushi restaurant in town, and the hibachi is phenomenal!\r Every time we go here, we get a hibachi chef that seems to love what he's doing.\r In short, prepare to laugh hard and eat ridiculously good food.\r \r One drawback: the price. Hibachi menu items start around $17 a person for the veggie version (if my memory serves me) and different meat options add up quickly. Definitely worth it, but be forewarned.\r \r Oh! I am a long time Asian/Japanese food eater. I went to this restaurant with my friends from Houston and we were impressed with the food, dinning atmosphere and professional services. The sushi rolls were excellent; especially the skin-thin cucumber instead of typical seaweed wraps for the sushi rolls tasted very refreshing and unique. You can also find some rolls were combined with local Cajun cuisine, such as crawfish and crabs. The seafood was prepared freshly and not heavy. The authentic Japanese style sushi was also exquisite. We have never found anything taste like it in the Great Houston area and other major cities, we definitely will go back again. We recommend to our families and friends. While the sushi here is pretty good, their hibachi is delicious. Their Wasabi shrimp is also to die for! Koto is the perfect place for a full course meal of appetizers, drinks, and hibachi. Their service has been a little slow on average, but everything else outweighs this complaint. Pros: Fun and delicious place for dinner Cons: Come expecting to wait more

Derek Chang's Koto sushi is fast becoming the best known name in town for great sushi in a great location. Located just off I-10 on College Blvd, it is in the heart of Baton Rouge with ample parking. I've been to the other sushi resataurants in town, but Koto's remains my top pick for quality of food, service and atmosphere.\r \r The owner and head chef, Derek Chang, is a great guy who will come out to your table, say hi and ask you how you're doing. That kind of friendly, open service has drawn me back over and over. Under Derek's management, Koto has quickly evolved from the old buffet sushi people used to know at the same location to be a fun place for families to sit around the hibachi grill, couples to order exquisite sushi rolls from the bar, or bachelors who just want to pick up sushi for take-out. Koto has a large variety of interesting and delicious speciality rolls along with the regular favorites -- but if you want to get the true flavor of Koto, try the signature roll: ""The Bomb!""\r \r When you come in and look around, you'll see new developments underway include transforming the front end into a sake bar lounge and many new drinks are being added to the bar each week. The Bomb crazy awesome. Service is sometimes a little slow as the servers are mostly college kids. Very fresh sushi and delicious. more
