Grow Your Creative Skills! 1/22/2011

I am a proud Denver Center Attractions subscriber and in early 2010, I received an email for the upcoming Denver Center Theatre Academy class schedule. I opened the email and suddenly I became aware of a whole new world of possibilities. Over the last several months, I’ve taken a variety of voiceover, voice and speech and acting classes as well as coaching sessions – sponging in the concepts and applying the techniques taught by industry leaders – right here in my own backyard (the Mile High City). I’ve gone from being someone who has been told I have a good voice to someone who now knows how to best utilize it. Whether you’re looking to tap into your creative side or perhaps you want to build confidence when giving a corporate presentation, the Denver Center Theatre Academy is the place for you. There are many more classes I will be taking, so that I can continue to develop my talent and craft – which by the way is now my profession. Perhaps I’ll see you at one of the upcoming classes soon! more

Top notch acting classes! 1/19/2011

Weather you're just interested in trying out acting for fun, or you're an experienced actor looking to step up your game, this is the best place to go in Denver. I have taken several of the adult classes - at all levels - and worked with many of the faculty. I have never been disappointed. The instructors are all outstanding - and not just outstanding ""for the Denver area,"" but outstanding on a national level. They not only have phenomenal credentials, but they're actually good at TEACHING students how to become better actors. (And let's face it - learning more about acting is also learning more about what it is to be a human being in this world. It will change you for the better.) The faculty CARE about helping you to improve. They can also give great advice to folks trying to get out there and make it in ""the business."" You can also come away with some great connections in the acting world. The curriculum is both fun and challenging. The students are dedicated and friendly. You won't regret your decision to check this place out. more

What a fantastic program!!! 1/19/2011

My teenaged daughter has been involved with various DCTA programs for a few years. She is not a ""theater kid;"" just one who enjoys having new and varied experiences. 100% of our experience there has been positive and enjoyable. The stage-presence and confidence my daughter gained while performing onstage as The Caterpillar in ""Alice in Wonderland"" was amazing - not an easy thing to instill in teen-aged girls- as well as being just plain FUN!! I HIGHLY recommend ANY program at the DCTA. Its director is innovative and caring which trickles down to a passionate and involved faculty. The classes are varied and intriguing enough to keep anyone happy for years! more

Finding Your Voice 1/18/2011

I've had several vocal coaching sessions with Hilary Blair at DCTA and if I could shout my excitement without straining my vocal folds, I would! The experience is mind blowing as you will learn things about yourself - the ""aha!"" moments - while getting a real handle on the techniques behind how to best use your voice to truly enhance your presence as you interact in your business (and personal) world. And, it's fun! I left every session feeling energized and excited about my upcoming presentations. more

You will go places you've never imagined! 1/18/2011

I started at the academy about 4 years ago, with a mild curiosity about Voiceover. After taking a Beginning VO class from Hilary Blair, I have since continued my education, exploring acting and Improv, giving me the confidence and knowledge base to create a demo, find an agent, and begin working as a Professional Voiceover Artist. I have made dear friends in my classes at the academy, and consider it a second home. I hope to get my kids into the kids program this summer, so that they can experience the joy of stepping outside the everyday and into a magical place where anything can happen. Take one class - you'll understand quickly what a jewel we have here in Denver. more

Find your true self at Denver Center Theatre Academy 1/18/2011

I am voiceover guy with an agent, but until taking my first class at the DCTA —Intermediate Commercial Voiceover — was doing it by the seat of my pants. The class was fantastic and taught me how little I know, and how much more there is to explore. My instructor Hilary Blair was/is the best and with her help, maybe one day I'll call myself a voice actor. I assume all the faculty are equally awesome working pros. Met some great folks, all with unique backgrounds, who share the dream of succeeding in this crazy business. The value is truly outstanding. In my case 16+ hours of class/instruction for less than 300 bills! I've already signed up for a ""weekend intensive"" workshop and have a couple other classes in mind. The DCTA is a very highly-regarded theatre school that offer something for anyone who wants to explore performance of any kind. more

So much fun! 1/18/2011
