Best

It's a great hotel but if any of you are looking to save some $$ then book it at goo.gl/FPxYD They have some of the best hotel deals on the web!

Worst

Nothing says class like eating on a river boat turned into a hotel and restaurant. Except when it comes to eating substandard food there. The Delta King is really an odd blend o...

Poor Customer Service, Non-responsive Management 1/8/2008

Unfortunately my second stay with this hotel was not as good an experience as I had 3 years ago when I stayed there. I was double charged for my room and management was not responsive. When I arrived at check-in I was told they could not find my reservation but they had a room so it was not a problem. I told the clerk at that point that I had AAA and what the rate was quoted. He assured me that they would honor that so I took the room (They gave us the room right in the Lobby hallway, lots of lobby noise throughout the evening.) Upon check out I had been charged the standard rate not the AAA discount I had reserved originally - the clerk at that time did give me the 10% AAA discount but that was still $20 higher than I had reserved the room for originally. I didn't have time to argue so I paid it. In a few weeks I checked my credit card statements to find that not only was I charged upon check-out but I had also been charged for my original reservation as if I was a No-Show. Unfortunately at check-out I paid with a different credit card than my original reservation, which was completely confusing to the Accounting Clerk I called to speak to. After no luck with her I emailed the Manager - he also could not comprehend that I had been charged on 2 different credit cards and requested I send him both statements. I did as he requested and never heard from him again after 3 additional emails and 2 phone calls to him asking for resolution. I finally gave up and sent all the correspondence I had with the hotel over to the Credit Card company and they removed the ""no show"" charge from my account. I would not recommend this hotel, not due to the mix up on the overcharge because these things happen sometimes but, due to the fact that the Management never had the courtesy to follow up on the matter. more

Nice hotel, awful guest services 6/27/2006

Recently my daughter and I stayed at the Delta King. We were on the City View side of the boat. This was a special trip for my daughter's birthday and included a stay on the Delta King. My husband and I have stayed there a number of times before and it has always been a great experience. This time was quite another story. Pros: Ambiance, location Cons: Guest service more

Christmas Party 12/6/2004

We were at the Delta King last weekend for our company christmas party and everything was perfect. It was the best company party I have ever been to. The outside of the boat is decorated for the holidays with garland and red bows and the hotel and banquet rooms are very festive. The rooms are so cute! There was a turndown service with romantic lighting and chocolates. I can recommend the Delta King without hesitation. Pros: Very attractive rooms, Old Sacramento, Friendly staff more

  • In Short
The Delta King is an old paddlewheel boat that has been transformed into a hotel and restaurant. Lucky patrons are pampered as they gaze out the windows onto the murky but charming Sacramento River below. Lunch and dinner are fairly subdued and elegant, and diners can enjoy house specialties like the Fisherman's Stew, a fancy Caesar salad, and many pasta and seafood specials.
