Deer Park Kennels

Upon picking my dog up after a 12 day stay I was shocked at how thin he was. Before he was brought out to me I was told that he wasn't eating until they added baby food to his dog food. I don't know by what point they did this, and I didn't bother to ask. I was just happy to get him out of there. He is also very lethargic, but I'm not blaming the kennel for that. He is a four year old dog that I never put in a kennel before, so I understand that it must have been quite an adjustment for him. I just didn't expect to see his backbone showing the way that it is. He looks like he's starving, and when I brought him home and fed him he ate as fast as I've ever seen him eat. I feel that this situation would have warranted the kennel to contact me. He just does not look healthy, and I'm glad I picked him up when I did before the situation got worse. The staff and kennel itself are nice, but if I had to kennel him that long again I think that I would use someone else. They were very busy due to the holidays, and for as much as they charge I think that they should have been more attentive to his deteriorating appearance. They wouldn't let me bring my own food for him when I asked at the time I was making the reservation, so that is probably where I should have thought about going somewhere else. more

Deer Park will care for your dog as well as or better that you do. After much contemplation, I boarded my dog during my 2 week vacation. I was very nervous, but Latte was pampered, adored, and loved. She was returned to me calm, happy, and clean. She seemed to have had a wonderful vacation too. The staff here is exceptional. You will not be disappointed boarding here. more

I boarded my greyhound at Deer Park Kennels for 10 days, and he came back to me clean, calm and obviously very well taken care of. The manager lives on site, so the dogs are never left alone. I would recommend Deer Park to all of my friends and acquaintances. more

This is another kennel north of the city, not too far from 795. It was recommended by our vet, although sometimes it is difficult to get a reservation if you do not book enough in advance. The premises look clean and the staff is friendly and attentive. They offer the full range of services you would expect. The kennel is award winning and has been recently renovated. Services include boarding and grooming as well as training, which is a nice plus if your dog has obedience needs. Overall this is a pretty good kennel. more
