GOOD, once 1/3/2007

Seems as though everybody who comes to Berkshire County HAS to eat at the Dakota. Okay, it is great on ambience for an inexperienced out of towner; fireplaces, rough hewn walls, the signature New England way of life. The salad bar is big (IF YOU are big on salad bars) but the meal is standard fare; meat, fish, poultry and baked potato! Not the BEST in beef, but you may find a good cut after a couple of visits. It's chain, just like Ponderosa et ux!\r Rather pricey but it's located in the mid-Berkshire County corridor on Rte 7, 1/2 way between nothingness to the North and Tanglewood & Stockbridge to the South so you pay the price. Pros: The Dining Ambience is Very New England Cons: Parking is tiered, so in the winter, be prepared to coast in!!! more

Great service, Great atmosphere, Great Steaks! 9/6/2006

The restaurant is gorgeous, looks like an adirondack lodge. We were greeted promptly and brought this incredible bread!! The salad bar is huge and the food was out of this world - loved it. This is sure to be one of our regular stops for a night out. Try the prime rib, bone -in, juicy and perfect!! My husband had the crab stuffed shrimp and said it had the perfect amount of spice. So much food, he couldn't finish it. Their signature mudpie was excellent as well! more

I Just Wasn't Impressed 6/6/2005

We first went to this restaurant for their breakfast buffet, which was pretty good. We went back for dinner a few weeks later... The restaurant itself was beautiful, but our server left us waiting about a half hour before even taking our order! They season everything in a strange maple pepper seasoning (I think that's what it is), which I thought was disgusting (especially the chicken). The beef was good quality, good cuts etc., but it was very bland and the bernaise sauce was not to my liking (I've had sauce made from a packet of powder that tasted better). There wasn't much selection on the menu. The bill was ridiculous. I couldn't believe we had to pay that much. It's definitely not worth the ridiculous price, unless you don't mind paying for ambience. Pros: nice environment Cons: bad service, bad food more

We absolutely loved the Dakota! 7/2/2004

Such a relaxing restaurant! Delicious food too. I highly recommend the teriyaki sirloin and salmon wood grilled combination, marvelous! My husband had the prime rib and he was completely impressed too. Served bone-in, the way prime rib should be. The salad bar, with many organic selections is far from typical. All around delicious meal, great service, and pleasant ambiance! Pros: Delicious food, Great service, Comfortable more

outstanding 8/5/2002

I love the ambience! It feels like I am in a Mountian Lodge! I love the atmosphere when you walk in. You can smell the mesquite grill burning and then your eyes are attracted to the huge fresh salad bar. The items must be near 30! I can personaly say that my favorite is the Dakota New York Sirloin! The Dakota is also famous for the quality of service that they provide! This is by no means a side note! The service at the Dakota is Top Notch!!! ENJOY!!! more
