Crow Hill Hardwoods treated my husband and myself very well. They had expert knowledge on all the flooring and worked well with us. The flooring throughout my home is beautiful with no flaws. This is not a company you want to do business with. Michael Foster, the owner mis-represents the work to be done and then would not take responsibilities for problems. The crew he has working for him is not dependable, they came late, left early, did not clean up Removal of tile was fine, took longer than estimated. Hardwood install was done hurriedly. Owner promised that installer would lay out floor and use good pieces, installer said he couldn't do that, it took too long. I have gaps in the floor where I can see the sub-floor, I have staple pops and dents and nicks where tools were left on floor during install. They sawed moulding in the house causing a huge mess. Only about 50% of nail holes were filled, moulding not nailed in or when nailed, it split the shoe mould in a number of places. Cut moulding incorrectly resulting in gaps. I had to pay extra for transition to carpet because they did not know what to use and there was a gap between floor and carpet. Overall, I am just keeping my fingers crossed that I don't have more problems as time goes on. The installers were in such a hurry, they had to come back 6 times. The owner promised a quality of work the installers did not deliver. AVOID these guys. Came in for an estimate and told us they could make the floors of a couple of rooms and hallway ""beautiful"" - gave us a firm price and guaranteed deadline. So we delayed delivery of our furniture to accomodate and put the house painting that was in progress on hold. They told us they would be there at 8:00AM to get started. SThey sowed up at 11:30 AM, ripped up one room, and left (despite the fact it was only 1:00 PM and they were to refinish two other rooms and hallway). Showed up next evening, sanded 1/3-way of another room for an hour or so, then abandoned the job without a word and would not return calls! When I finally was able to catch up with the owner, Mike Foster, a few days later, he told me, ""I didn't have a contract with you."" (Uh, yeah they came over to do a little pro bono work??!) ""I should have never taken the job."" ""[My guy] should have never ripped up that floor."" ""It's your word against mine."" and ""I can't help you out any more(!!!) with the project. Uh, yeah, come in and rip the place up, leave debris everywhere and you can't HELP me any more?! Clearly our experience very negative, these people were totally dishonest with us (except we would agree that they should have never taken the job!). These people caused more damage to the floors and left us with the mess and cost of their ""help."" I certianly would not recommend etting these people into your home. They are not qualified to assess floors, much less repair or refinish them. Cons: Dishonest. Unqualified. See review. more
