They don't honor the groupon deal. The groupon deal is for $259 4 hours flat moving rate. We called and they said dont get the deal but we will still honor it. We ended up getting 4 hours moving cost at $895 - $250(coupon) and charged $645 for fours hours of moving... How does that equal the groupon deal??? Rip off! more

If I had seen previous reviews I probably wouldn't have gone with Cross State Moving and Storage. That been said I have had a very pleasant experience with this company and would definitely use them again. They showed up on time and gave me an excellent service. Their price was reasonable and delivered in acceptable time (MD-FL in 8 days). Jack (my rep) was friendly and helpful. Cross State is highly recommended by me! more

I hired Cross State Moving and Storage to move my parents from Maryland to Utah. The team showed up on time and were courteous and well mannered. They packed up all of my parents belongings efficiently and much faster than expected. They had a problem getting my parents huge sofa down the stairs but succeeded in the end without damaging anything. It did take a while for the items to arrive in Utah but we were warned this at time of booking as 'Utah is far away and fewer people move to there'. We were given a binding price over the phone and just had to pay a bit extra as we added a few more items to the list. Overall myself and my parents were very happy with the service received and would highly recommend Cross State Moving and storage. more

Our moving with Cross State Moving was a nightmare from the start to the end. We picked up this company because they are supposed to be professional piano movers and we had an upright piano to move (as well as all our furnitures). First, the movers showed up almost 3 hours late. They had no equipment to move the piano, so they dragged it on the sideway and of course they damaged it. Before unloading the truck from our previous apartment to our current one, the driver demanded that we pay for an extra 2 hours because he thought that moving the piano would take longer than expected (what we did because otherwise they wouldn't want to unload the truck with all our stuffs). However, CROSS STATE MOVING did not move our piano. In fact, they abandon it (on its side= vertically!) on the lobby of our building because the movers said it was to heavy and they had never moved a piano before. At some point they even wanted to try to ""roll"" the piano to make it move: rotating it on its side, and on the top, and on the side again, and so on!!! As a consequence, they finish the job more than one hour earlier than what they asked us for because the piano was never moved up to our apartment. The movers also behaved very badly with most of our furniture: trying to carry our flat screen vertically (on its side) and alone when it is written on the box that it should be moved by 2 persons at least, and always stay horizontally. We discussed this matter on the phone with the company several time and we sent them emails although they never replied to them. On the phone, they agree to refund on our credit card the one hour of overtime we paid and that is not appearing on the bill plus one hour of compensation for the fact that the piano had not been moved to the second floor, as basically the movers lost one hour trying and arguing with us for not moving the piano upstairs. But of course, our credit card was never refunded, and at the end the company just stopped answering our phone calls, or put us on hold… for ever. more

Our experience with this local moving company was outstanding. We have moved many times, both locally and interstate. We have had negative experiences in the past so it was a relief when our local move with these movers went so well. The company's customer service staff was so helpful, our movers on the day of our moving service were very respectful of me, my possessions and my time (therefore money). What really impressed me was how hard and fast these men worked. Ron and his movers were courteous to me and took great care of my stuff and it was great to see how polite they were to each other as well. I would not only recommend these movers' service but I would use them again. Well done! Each time, the three guys arrived early, were courteous, friendly and handled my furniture and items with care. We used this Washington, DC moving service company based entirely on this site and the comments left here, and so I wanted to leave a rave review here for our recent move to Delaware. My company was paying for the service, the $1260 price quote came in under that amount, and I liked the way I was treated and our communication with Janet, so we booked them for our long distance move. \r Their staff arrived 15 minutes early and loaded our third-floor two-bedroom apartment in about 3 hours. They were very careful with everything, and dealt with care and really well with our furniture. The amount they could haul was amazing! We met them in the city and they sent an extra guy to help with the unload, which made it a lot quicker considering the small elevator. The unload took about 2.5 hours, so the whole day (load, drive, unload) took 12 hours. They came in a little over the estimate, but we paid the capped rate and we gave just over a $250 tip. \r We really liked their help from the customer service, and their rates and the pricing policy. The guys were all very nice, friendly, and professional. We definitely plan to use them again if possible in future moves.\r more
