I find that Cracker Barrel is consistent wherever you go and the wait is not bad usually since you can browse in the store at lots of quality items. If you go at peak times, sometimes you wait longer but I avoid those times. The chicken tenderloins and chicken and dumplings are especially good, the carrots are sweet as sugar and most everything I try is worth the moderate cost. Pros: moderate prices, fun to shop, nostalgic more

The best value 12/26/2002

Whether breakfast, lunch or dinner, Cracker Barrel has something for everybody. Best is breakfast with real maple syrup, fluffy eggs and crisp bacon. Mashed potatoes are ""real"" and not from a box. Meatloaf is soft and moist. Pros: Consistency, Value, Store items Cons: Wait times more

Hands Down and Granpa's Favorite! 12/19/2002

The Cracker Barrel chain restaurant in any city is always one of if not the best choice for breakfast 24 hrs. The Old Timers and Grand Pa's breakfast entrees are served hot and superb. Be sure to ask for extra gravy or strawberry jam with sour dough toast. The staff is friendly, unfortunately the distance for most to the restaurant is quite a jaunt. Enjoy -- the worst thing is that they did away with the frequent diner's club. Pros: Hot and Tasty, Above Average Service, Clean and Orderly Cons: No Frequent Diner Clb, Parking at Some Hours more

Bob is Better 10/31/2002

If you like Cracker Barrel, you should try the new Bob Evans that has opened up just north of 295 on San Jose Blvd in Mandarin. They serve the same home cooking style meals - but they taset even better. I suggest you try the Country Bisquit Breakfast - a fresh bisquit topped with crumbled sausage, an egg (I like mine scrambled), creamy country gravy, and shredded cheddar cheese served with a delicious side of home fries. If you're there in the morning, ask for Pat, she is one of the best servers in the business! more

Very Family Friendly 8/8/2002

This is a busy restaurant that draws a large family crowd. The portions are large and prices reasonable. This is a good place for a big Sunday breakfast. Wait times are long, so browse the gift shop. more
