I absolutely love this place. I eat there several times a month and would do so more if it was closer. Best ribs in town and my wife loves the smoked turkey. Only place that I ...

Worst

THE CORKY'S HERE JUST DOESN'T CAPTURE THE FLAVOR PROFILES, AMBIANCE OR SERVICE LIKE THE ORIGINAL ONE IN MEMPHIS. NOT BAD BBQ FOR THESE PARTS THOUGH.

Good Food, not so good location 12/6/2011

I agree with tochtli83 after the parking lot. I believe if the building was further back and the bushes at the front were removed getting out with probably be easier. They really need to make the exit more level. The food is good I always get the pork sandwich and barbeque corn its the best. more

Good 4/25/2011

Good food. I've never eaten in, so I can't speak to service. But the drive-through is fine. Pork is tender and tasty, and the sauce is really good: not otherworldly, but good. Just a caution about the drive-through and the general location of the place. Trying to get out of the parking lot is quite challenging, especially if you drive stick. You have to drive up a hill that doesn't plateau before you can see the oncoming traffic: which is heavy most of the time. Be CAREFUL. more

Best BBQ in town!!! 11/20/2009

I absolutely love this place. I eat there several times a month and would do so more if it was closer. Best ribs in town and my wife loves the smoked turkey. Only place that I have seen that serves collard green and their unique style of potato salad. Place has great oldies music playing and the staff is very friendly. I always have a manager stop by and say hello when I'm there. Nice to go to a place where you always feel like a ""local"". Pros: Only place that has dry rub ribs in town. Cons: It takes me 30 mins to get there. more

Don't get it to go 12/21/2008

Good barbeque, in general. But don't get it to go. I got a side of fried ocra. They packaged it in a plastic container sealed with a lid. Guess what I got when I got home...Mushy ocra in mushy crust. It was really disgusting. They've been around for years, so I'm really suprised that they haven't figured this problem out before. I called the store and spoke with the manager, Dale, and he said that he's never had a complaint about that before and they always package the ocra that way. Well, I'm guessing that no one else wanted to take the time to complain that their ocra was mush. But, I'm not in the business of throwing money away and when I order a side, I expect to get what I paid for. more

Not impressed 7/20/2008

BBQ sandwich and fries for like $9, not worth the price. Terrible service, the place was not very busy and still had a bad waitress. Wouldn't go back. more

decent food at decent prices 8/2/2006

we've struggled to find ""the best bbq"" in nashville for some time. im not sure corky's is it. but they are consistent, the food's not bad, and is reasonably priced. their ribs are quite good, pork is tasty, their ""homemade"" sauces range from sweet to damn-hot and they have a great beer special which is too cheap to turn down. kids menu is plentiful (includes ribs!) and the atmosphere, while somewhat unoriginal chain restaurant-y looking, is family friendly. we'll go back when wondering where to eat ribs, until we find some place better... Pros: family friendly, reasonable prices, consistent food quality Cons: uninspired, busy and loud at times more

Best BBQ in town!! 8/6/2005

Smoky, tender delicious ribs and cheap beer - HEAVEN!! They smoke all of there meat on-site with hickory fired pits - not commisary or corporate. Sauce is great also. Most other Nashville BBQ seems to be using vinegar sauce - yuk! I like the actual food better here in Nashville than the original in Memphis. Memphis has a better ambience, ""energy"" and lots more grime - but the food is better here in Nashville. I bring all out of towners to Corky's and they rave about the quality and flavor. Can't get BBQ like this up north. I ordered their party pack for 4TH of July party and it was awesome. I had huge portions and thought I'd over ordered, but my guests couldn't stop eating it. HUGE success! I think I just started a tradition. Go try for yourself. Forget the hype and TASTE THE FOOD!! You wont regret. Pros: FOOD, Service, Value Cons: Entrance / Exit more

Great ribs 3/22/2005

I love their dry ribs. They are the best I have ever had. more

Memphis is better 9/15/2003

For those who don't like the franchise in the Nashville area, make the drive to Memphis and have the original. Much better. But while you're there, try The Rendezvous. THAT'S far and away the best BBQ I've ever had anywhere in the U.S.A. Pros: Ambience, Service, Inexpensive more

CORKY'S IN MEMPHIS IS BETTER 3/8/2003

Great Bar-B-Q 2/28/2003

This is the place you take visitors for BarBQ. The ribs, beef and pulled pork are all excellent and the sauce keeps you wanting to come back for more. I have tried both the wet and dry rub ribs and most partial to the wet ribs. Enjoy. Pros: great food, take out window Cons: deep frid dill pickle more

great dry rib, fatty wet ribs 2/28/2003

The barbque as a whole is good. The dry ribs are awesome but could stand to be meatier. The wet ribs are just plain gross, the three times I have tried the wet, there was more fat than meat. The beans are great, slaw great and service is wonderful. more

Sweet smoke pit 1/30/2003

Corky's Bar-B-Q is an excellent restaraunt if you love good bar-b-q and good cold beer. May I suggest that everyone try their all you can eat rib buffet on Monday nights or their all you can eat catfish on fridays. Pros: good value Cons: lack of parking more

Best ribs in town! 1/18/2003

Corky's is the family favorite! Great food and nice atmosphere. Also Great for caterings! more

Great marketing doesn't make great bar-q 1/9/2003

Corky's is Production Line Bar-b-q, not bad, but not great. more

Awesome dry-rub ribs! 1/2/2003

Best dry-rub ribs I have had in a long time. The half-slab I ordered had a flavorful crisp crust on the outside and was falling-off-the-bone tender on the inside. Moist and unctuous, it was heaven to eat! Corky's signature sauce needs a little more punch to it, though; it was too mild, and I kept adding hot sauce (also kept at the table) to it. Terrific baked beans. Awesome french fries, the kind with a spicy, lightly battered exterior that I wish I knew how to make at home. Soft, pillowy rolls served with every meal. They make their own key-lime pie in the restaurant, and my husband said it was good. But don't miss out on the warm apple cobbler! A more-than-generous serving came heaped high in a huge bowl, topped with two scoops of creamy vanilla ice cream, whipped cream, and a cherry on top. Pros: generous portions, booths, inexpensive Cons: bland barbecue sauce, exceptional service more

You have got to be kidding. 12/4/2002

What in the world is this expensive corporate slop doing on anybody's top 10 list? Corky's has, in its favor, some really nice, thick sauce. However, the meat is sticky and bland like you'd find in a truck stop, tasting like it's been cooked in a pressure steamer and not in an open pit over wood. The decor is ambience-free upscale fern bar. The restaurant has no character and the food is overpriced and awful. This ranks among the worst pork I've ever had. Even Sonny's is better. more

It's OK but not world class 10/22/2002

I was told this was the best place to get BBQ and the ribs were to die for. I am from out of town and have seen many cities in my travels, tried many places to eat. Corky's gets only marginal rating from my take out meal. The cut of meat for the ribs was very good, lean and good flavor. The sauce was bland and lifeless. The order should have had two sides as ordered, got to the hotel room and only one was there. Slaw was OK nothing special. The bun was very good. I will try them again, but first take they are far down the BBQ list. Prices made this a reasonable buy though. more

Great and tasty flavor 8/8/2002

not overcooked, best BBQ pork I've eaten. and I am from Tampa, FL.... more

Best Ribs this side of Memphis 7/24/2002

Corky's is second to none for ribs in Nashville. The only place I think is better is the Rendevous, but that's in Memphis. more
