Be warned!! if you notice most of the negative posts are more vocal, listen to them. They perform like any other company or maybe even less for what your paying, get better bids and they do over charge. They almost got a way with 3K more for a system replacement. I would stay away. more

I Feel Ripped Off 3/17/2012

I purchased a Living Social coupon for a tune up on our heating system. The unit was working but I was hearing shaking when I would turn it up. The technician told me it needed a new blower motor and limit control. They also were to clean and adjust the blower wheel. He also said it might need a new heat exchanger but he could not see it except for the outside. I authorized the work for $1599 for the parts. They were going to forgo an additional charge of $193 for the blower wheel and fan capacitor but it ended up being charged anyway. The technician did the work and then came down from the roof and said that now that he could see the heat exchanger, the unit was unsafe and he was going to turn it off. He had his supervisor come out, who didn't even go on the roof, did a sales pitch and told us we needed a new unit for another $7200 especially because it would be difficult to get a heat exchanger for our 30 year old unit. We got a second opinion and we were told the blower wheel was broken. The hub was disconnected from rest of blower wheel and was spinning separately, which would cause the shaking that I originally had. He said we were grossly overcharged. The repairs done should have been about $400. He also told us we do need a new unit. We had this person install a new unit and all new duct work ( something not mentioned by One Hour ) for $6500. One Hour would have cost us $9037 with no duct work. I feel as though I have been ripped off. more

Do your research 2/20/2012

I have some sound advice for all the people that are thinking about calling one of these companies. I am a former hvac professional, and there are some things you can do before you call these gangsters. If your ac stops working properly go outside, and check your condenser coils. If they are dirty wash them off with water, and also make sure your air filter is clean. I got more calls for dirty coils and filters than anything else. You should also make sure that your breaker did not trip, and invest in a fuse checker to make sure your fuses have not blown. These are cheap and simple checks you can make before you panic and call one of these rip off artist. Last but not least do not fall for the old line, sorry but your unit is just too old, you need a newer, more efficient model. This is the oldest trick in the book, and also the easiest one to play on customers. It is truly sad that this industry has sunk so low over the years that they would resort to ripping off poor hard working people. I hope this will help the next customer before they spend any money, and remember that air conditioning is basically simple, its the idiots that come into your home that make it so complicated. more

Very Aggressive Sales threatening you with filing code to ci 9/8/2011

we got some promo they come here for a 'free' maintenance trip. all he did was some measurement and did absolutely nothing. and he has the gut to tell us do you think they would be so stupid to do something tangible because they would charge you for it. then he keep to say everything is bad in our AC (sure it is not brand new but it works fine), and telling us they are filing a report for code violation/etc, because it is an old model/etc. my advice, 1) dont get them unless you know there is a problem 2) they way they hard sell the service and threaten you with filing code violation is very unethical. i would just avoid them in the future more

I own a rental home in Riverside and received a call from my tenants saying the heater was not working. I called One Hour Air Conditioning to see if they could help. They worked with my tenants schedule and had the furnace fixed by the end of the day. It is hard to know who you can trust in your home and especially from hundreds of miles away so I truly appreciate the professionalism and courteous they showed both my tenants and I. I will definetly use them for all my AC needs and highly recommend them to everyone! more

HORRIBLE COMPANY!! 8/24/2010

This company installed my heat pump/air conditioning system 7 yrs ago. My old unit put out 2x better than this one. They were out several times in the beginning to try to find out why my house wasn't getting cool enough. Finally I gave up. Now the unit quit working. They tried to rip me off first charging me over $450 and not knowing what was wrong. Then it went up to almost $800 with no guarantees. Then they thought it was the compressor and said it would be a minimum of $3500 to fix and no guarantee that was even the problem. I called the office and talked to some supervisor. They were going to send out a senior tech that afternoon or the next day and said he would call. No tech ever showed up and no call as promised. I sent them away and called another company. Turns out, the compressor is still under warranty. The new company was extremely honest and I will use them for now on. Don't use this company unless you like throwing money away. Giving the one star is way too many. more

NOT AN HONEST COMPANY! 8/19/2010

They cannot be trusted! Bought an A/C and without telling me they installed a no name split system heat pump-A/C unit instead. After the unit was installed and they gave me the installation manual is when I was first made aware of this. ""We didn't have the unit you bought in stock but don't worry,"" they told me, ""it is a much better unit than what you paid for and we didn't connect the heat pump"". I had an uneasy feeling because of the lack of being told in advance but went along with it because it was already installed. I'm sure that is why they handle it that way. That has turned out to be, at best, misinformation, and at worst an outright lie. Now that the unit is out of the one year warranty the A/C no longer works. Guess what's broken? The switching system that directs whether heat or cold air comes into the house. The only temp it directs to the house is hot ! But the bill is on me to fix it. The only thing they offered is a $20.00 discount on the service call charge and they will deduct the service call charge from the repair cost if I have them repair the unit. Sounds like a trap for what could turn out to be an overpriced repair that more than compensates for the discount. more

Don't Bother! Poor Workmanship and No Guarantee!‎ 7/24/2008

Please, please, please don't go here!! These people do not know what they are doing. They overcharge and don't provide the right AC unit. No notice that they were installing a different unit which needed a different furnace. And now they don't even guarantee their work so they won't come out and fix the problem. If you enjoy throwing your money away for poor service then have fun at this place. Otherwise, GO ELSEWHERE!!
