Common Ground Organic Garden Supply & Education Center

Common Ground has moved from ts original location to a lovely building across El Camino, and it is a big improvement, light, airy and clean. They have an excellent selection of organic seeds and planting materials, and a small, but interesting selection of seasonal vegetable and plant starts. The staff is always helpful, and very reasonably priced classes are offered on a variety of gardening topics. This is a really user friendly place to buy uncommon varieties of vegetables. Stop by and get some heritage plants that are in good shape. They also are availalble for questions about plants and fertilizers. more

This is a great place to come if you are a gardener, especially a vegetable gardener. They have a reference library and knowledgeable staff to help you, as well as the usual gardening supplies and healthy organic plants. more

This is a wonderful garden store. It's an especially good place to take children. In addition to prepackaged seeds, Common Ground has lots of flower, herb and vegetable seeds in jars. These seeds are sold by the teaspoon, tablespoon or gram. It's fun for children to help measure out the seeds and put them in the glassine envelopes. \r \r Common Ground sells garden tools (some of them child sized). Lots of organic garden supplements are available too. If you don't want to wait for the seeds to sprout, there are some plants for sale. \r \r The classes offered by Common Ground are very useful ranging from double digging to drip irrigation.
