Colonial Family Practice

Love this practice. My husband and I have been patients for years. I see Dr. Whaley, and he is a patient of Dr. Lowder. The staff has always treated us kindly and we've always received good care. Wait time can be a little long sometimes, but overall it's worth it. more

Stay away from this place! The front desk at the forest acres location are rude and could care less if your sick!!! They dont have a clue on how to treat people let alone sick people! I never write reviews but I could not help but worn people to find another doctors office. more

It's obvious that this is a good practice based on the number of people that are always there. Between me and my kids we've seen several of the doctors, and they have always been kind, concerned, and passionate about our health. We've never had any problems with the staff either. Would highly recommend. more

My wife and I ""FIRED"" our last doctor due to poor service. We switched to Colonial Family Practice and chose Dr Leonard. My wife's first visit; Dr. Leonard wrote a prescription and we were not able to get the medicine filled. We were told by the CVS that our doctor needs to call TRICARE and get approval for the medicine. We went back to see Dr Leonard and told him. He said that he would call and for us to pick up the medicine the very next day and that he would assure us that he would call Tricare. Well, two visits back to CVS and still no call from Dr Leonard to Tricare. I have waisted already three trips to CVS. Starting to think it may be time to ""FIRE"" Dr. Leonard. So far..... We are not impressed with Colonial Family Practice. more

THIS PLACE IS BAD, DRAMA AT THE FRONT DESK, LAZY WORKERS, TO MANY SITTING AROUND DOING NOTHING AND TO LAZY TO HELP. THE DOCTORS ARE CRAZY THEY HAVE ALL TURNED MONEY HUNGRY AND OVER CHARGE YOU FOR EVERYTHING. $200.00 FOR A OFFICE VISIT IF YOU HAVE NO INSURANCE. JUST FOR A SIMPLE MED REFILL. CHARGING $300.00 FOR A LAB WHEN MY NEIGHBOR HAD THE SAME TEST AND IT WAS $65.00 AT HER DR'S OFFICE. TO MANY PEOPLE WALKING AROUND GETTING PAID TO DO NOTHING, THIS COULD BE THE REASON FOR THE CRAZY BILLING.. SAVE YOUR MONEY GO TO ANOTHER DR OFFICE.. more

Colonial Family Practice just keeps getting better and better. The new Urgent Care Facility is wonderful and easily accessible; just around the corner of the building. The office folks and the assistants are sincerely pleasant and helpful. Dr. Meyers has a caring, attentive, and heartfelt personality and gave me expert care in a most timely manner. They are definitely the best medical practice in Sumter! more

Dr Lowder does not have a clue what is going on in his own office. Most of his staff is right out of school and graduated at the bottom of their class. Most of them can not use the equipment on site nor can they read the results. They do not care either Pros: Every type of test or procedure offered Cons: Can't read the test results more

Dr. Leonard is a very kind, caring and thoughtful doctor. He makes sure that you are given the medical treatment that you need. It is hard to get to talk to his nurse if you have any questions or concerns. Usually you can get an appointment the day you call. Pros: Dr. Leonard is a great doctor! OMG, how many ways can you say bad? This place. I checked one star, only because it didn't appear that you could check ""no"" stars. Don't go there. And they overcharge, by a lot. Pros: Cannot think of one Cons: Overcharges for things not done, bad service, rude receptionists more

Dr. Lowder at Colonial Family Practice is the best doctor out there. He is thorough and kind and as smart as any doctor I have ever come across. Dr. Lowder is genuine and caring and understands medicine in such a special way. He has worked hard to provide a myriad of services to his patients and is relentless at accuracy in diagnosis. He has a wonderful, fun personality which makes for the best bedside manner. He truly cares about his patients. Pros: Knowledge, concern, level of care Cons: No Cons - Dr. Lowder is worth the wait. more
