I've only been here a few (maybe 5 or so) times so far, but find everyone to be very down to earth & welcoming. Not to mention, the pastor (still don't remember his name...Pastor ...

At first, I was looking for a famly friendly church to attend when I arrived in Cary. My initial impression was favorable. HOWEVER, when I became more involved with the bible stud...

Remarkable preaching...get involved! 7/6/2011

There is a reason Colonial is so big....Scripture is presented with no apologies, not watered down. The Word of God taught verse by verse...book by book. Yes, it takes time to develop relationships with people. Many have attended since the 1980's...but if you get involved, find a small group, help in one of the many ministries, you will find a loving group of forgiven sinners. We visited 1 time and then visited other churches for a year because a big church was not appealing to me. Pastor Davey is why we returned...listen yourself on the church website or 92.5 everyday at 8:30. more

We are new to the Cary area and are looking for a home church. I am reviewing the reviews of this church, which are appalling. I can't imagine the dissention going on within these walls and have no desire to be a part of such chaos. We will look elsewhere and good luck getting new members. more

Response to Luke B's Post 5/10/2010

Luke B, I read your review of Colonial Baptist Church. I was quite shocked at the vehement accusations hurled against a group of God’s children. I am not a member of Colonial, but have attended many times and know many people who are members. I find your blatant comments to be irresponsible to say the least. The ministry provided by Colonial is Biblically based, extensively researched, and well delivered. The music is beautiful and I have not seen anyone’s “ears bleed”. Your final comment speaks volumes and really does nothing to engage others to your cause as you sink to such an immature level of name calling when you write, “If you are not Calvinistic, congratulations you are not an idiot, arrogant, fathead.” How does that make you sound? Response to Luke B. review 5/29/2009

I read Luke B's comment and was appalled at the hate and the fear of righteousness that he has. I am a member of a different church but I am very familiar with Colonial and it's members. Luke B. (whoever you are and thank-you for NOT letting anyone know your last name like a coward) Who hurt you so very badly that you would make such a hateful and unjust review of such a team as Colonial Baptist Church? Only a fool would proclaim Christ and stab a good brother in his back. Only a fool would make an attempt to destroy one of God's ministries. Only a fool would write something hateful against God's people and therefore against God. All that I can say to you is, "It is a good thing that God doesn't get the internet or else your hatred for God would be seen, and you would be busted and chastened harshly" <-SARCASM!...Brace yourself. And you called God's people Ignorant?... L O L! G Flippo more

An amazing church with a phenomenal pastor and glorious music. Teaching Christ through scripture alone, sola scriptura. A true gift from God. more

Colonial Baptist Church 2/6/2009

I would not recommend this church. By far the most closed minded group of people you will encounter in a long time. Nothing about Colonial is comforting, it is very clique, and not welcoming, music director has no idea what he is doing(making ears bleed, The church is CALVINISTIC if you are a Calvinist you might enjoy it. If you are not Calvinistic, congratulations you are not an idiot, arrogant fat head. more

Learn a lot 8/21/2005

The tenents of faith at Colonial are your usual Baptist, conservative beliefs. What makes Colonial different is the incredible energy and spirituality you'll find there. They welcome everyone warmly and are very accepting and encouraging, even if you're up front that you do not plan to become a member because of a disagreement with a particular belief - they still want you to come and participate. I think it's the only "mega-church" in the Triangle - it is really big (several thousand visitors each Sunday morning). And it is growing fast. Despite that, it's still a place where you can easily get to know people. There are lots of great bible studies to choose from. The best things about Colonial are the incredible pastor, Stephen Davies (who has been speaking on Romans for about 6 years now) - he really knows the book and history, and he's terrific at teaching. The other fantastic thing about Colonial is the high uality of the worship leaders. The band and choir are terrific - it's like going to a concert on Sunday mornings. more
