it's got some history, it's got the old guy who comes there everyday, but that's about it. the food tasted alright, but the servings were tiny, and the service was terrible, i don't know if you have to be a local, or we weren't dressed quite the way we should have(thought it was going to be more down home, and not so uptown) but if you want new orleans go to Luizza's or Mandina's or Casamento's or Frankie and Johnny's or anywhere else. I do wish I could have gone here when they had crawfish boils, and sweet potato pie, but my the times of changed. more

This place is EXCELLENT. You MUST try it! 3/24/2007

Being born and raised in New Orleans, I am so sorry I never tried Ye Olde College Inn sooner. I tried it for the first time in December. I eat out frequently, and always like to try new places. I am also very picky when it comes to restaurants and food quality. Well, Ye Olde College Inn, is DEFINITELY on my list of favorites! The food is FANTASTIC! The service is FANTASTIC. The atmosphere is FANTASTIC! The prices are FANTASTIC! This place is authentically New Orleans, and I think that is what I like best about it. I now go there every chance that I get. I also recommend it every chance that I get. This is a place that if you have someone come to New Orleans for the first time, and you want them to try GOOD New Orleans food for the first time - take them here. Keep up the great work Ye Olde College Inn. I may be a new customer, but I will definitely remain a customer for a long time. Pros: Service, Value for Price, Food Quality Cons: Parking, During peak times there's normally a wait more

Awful food 11/2/2006

My boyfriend and I had awful food here. I have no idea why anyone would eat here since 1979 unless they had no tastebuds. The food was dry and overcooked and Katrina can't be used an excuse because we went here before the storm. more

A Must-Try in New Orleans 6/7/2006

This Uptown staple serves some of the best homecooked cuisine around. Everytime I visit the place, I have to have the veal cutlet dinner with sauteed spinach and sweet potatos. The shrimp remoulade salad is great, too. more

If not mistaken since 1933. I've eaten here since 1979 and have never been disappointed. Everything on the menu is excellent, but the the poboys are my favorite. It's the bread they use, the best around. I moved to Baton Rouge in 1983 and my wife and I still go down to ""The College Inn"" just for lunch sometimes. When I'm working in New Orleans I bring an ice chest to bring some home. The best O rings in the world!!! more
