Please learn from my loss and take your shoes for repair elsewhere!! In January I brought 2 pair of shoes and 2 pair of boots to this establishment for repair and was told that they would take approximately 1 week to repair . 2 weeks later I went to pick up my shoes and was told that the boots were done but the shoes were not done. Disappointed that they had not completed the job on time, I told them that I had several weeks of travel ahead of me and it would be some time before I could return. They said nothing more, and I paid and left with my boots. 4 weeks later I went to the store to pick up my shoes. They found only one pair of shoes. Luckily I had tickets for both pair. The first thing they said to me was that they had not yet completed the repair on the second pair (first lie). I stupidly paid for the repair on the first pair and told them that I would return in half an hour to pick up the second pair, repaired or not, but expected compensation if they could not find the shoes. When I returned they informed me that since the ticket said that they were not responsible after 30 days (even though they had not repaired the shoes within 2 weeks and sent me away without my shoes) so that even though they lost my shoes, they owed me nothing and told me to leave the premises or they would call the authorities. I invited them to call, moved across the street, and when the police arrived, they told them that I had picked up all of my shoes (second lie). The police did not believe them since I had showed them my ticket, but, of course, there was nothing they could do. Now my only recourse is the courts. Do yourself a favor - there are many honest hard-working shoe repair shops in the area that do not lose shoes and, if they did, act with integrity. Learn from my experience and patronize these shops with confidence.
