Cole Garage

I'll admit it - I don't know the first thing about cars and I have paid too much for unnecessary or relatively minor services at other garages in the past. I decided to try Cole's based on three other reviews I read on this site. My car is 10+ years old and I'm about to move across country. I had a ton of work done that I had been putting off (including a new timing belt and water pump), and based on my old repair orders from other garages, I can tell that the cost was very reasonable. Mike, my mechanic, included a number of services as a courtesy. He even told me that I didn't need new brakes, when *2 years ago*, a mechanic at the Firestone on Geary tried to convince me to get new brakes. At least I knew enough to decline that one. If you've ever worried that you weren't being charged reasonable prices at a garage or that mechanics were suggesting unnecessary services, you can come to Cole's and not worry about it. I've trusted all my cars to Cole Garage - honest and great work (ie, no ripping you off). Dirk and Mike are great with domestic and foreign cars and often do the little things for free. I highly recommend Cole Garage. I have been taking my car there for 3 years, and am always pleased with the service and the price. I took my car in under the impression that I needed all new brakes and in reality I only needed new front brake pads. I locked my key in my car around the corner and caught the owner closing shop, he ran over and unlocked my car just as a neighborly favor. I've brought car's here a few times. They are slow as molasses but if you can wait they do a good job at a very reasonable cost. Good, nice people too. The only garage that I've been to in SF that I've liked so far... more
