Cleveland Botanical Gardens 4/14/2006

My husband and I visited this place this past summer. It has amazing gardens, built after famous architects and landscapers. The Japanese Garden was my favorite one. The gift shop has a great array of items, and I bought some wonderful pastry plates shaped as a flower, which have been a hit with all of my friends. more

Cleveland Botanical Garden 4/5/2006

Going to the Cleveland Botanical Garden is always a joy because you never know exactly what to expect. Of course there are flowers and what not but it’s the new flowers and the way that they’re arranged that takes you by surprise. Whenever you go to the Cleveland Botanical Garden make sure to bring a camera because there are definitely some memories to be made. more

Go to see the enormous butterflies! 9/24/2005

The Cleveland Botanical Garden is a unique and wonderful place to enjoy for everyone. The best part of this place is the open-air garden that has hundreds of butterflies that will fly freely right next to you. Some of these butterflies have a wingspan of over 9 inches! I have never seen anything quite like it in my life. They have also made some new renovations and added plenty of new exhibits. It's probably the best place to visit in the University Heights area! more

Very pretty... 8/21/2005

I went to Botanical Gardens in December as part of a Christmas outing with the law firm I worked at. I am not sure if it was because it was December, but there was not a lot to see and do there. The exhibits that they did have up were beautiful and the place was decorated very nice for the holiday. However, in some of the rooms it was very hot in order to control the climate for the plants and flowers. I hope to go back this fall. more

Great expansion 8/20/2005

The Cleveland Botanical Gardens recently underwent an expansion, and the museum is now very nice. It has several different climates, each with a wide variety of plants and trees. The gardens are beautifully maintained and there are almost always flowers in bloom. However, it is not really an all-day event, so you should plan on visiting other nearby University Circle attractions. more

A Wonderful Experience here 8/19/2005

The Cleveland Botanical Gardens are a beauty to enjoy. They have a glass house with over 350 species, a 30-foot Baobab tree, and a 40-foot Fig Tree as well. You can have a memorable day by yourself or they even will host events like weddings and the like. You can visit their Garden cafe for refreshments or The Garden Store which has a great selection of children books and toys. You can find garden-related gifts and stationary and plants, posters and more. It's breathtaking at the gardens, so be sure that you bring your camera. more

Neat but not exceptional 8/17/2005

I've only visited the Botanical Gardens once, during the very early spring, as part of a high school environmental club. It may just have been that we were with a large group; or it might have been the time of year; but there really wasn't all that much in the Botanical Gardens. I have seen some beautiful flowers and amazing trees (for instance, at the arboretum in the South Chagrin Metroparks Reservation), and I was expecting similar when I came to the Botanical Gardens. There were some very pretty trees and flowers, but not many, and none really breathtaking. If you like to photograph flowers or plants, this may be a great place for you. There are more than a handful of excellent photo opportunities, and you won't be disappointed. But to the human eye, there isn't really that much to these gardens; they're not very big and, last I saw, not very diverse. On the other hand, it may be a wonderful place to visit in a season when more flowers are in bloom. I will go again the next time I'm in Cleveland. There is considerable potential in the Botanical Gardens if the space were used well, and I'm cautiously optimistic. more

beuatiful flowers 7/29/2005

I went here when they had it free for a day, and it was beautiful. They had all kinds of flowers from all over the world. They had trees also. They had activities for the kids, they made crafts from tree parts. They had allot of information to read concerning the exhibits, very informative. more

Although this is more my moms speed than mine. It is a quiet relaxing beautiful place. The beauty of nature surrounds and encompasses every one of your senses, from the moment you enter. The gardens are very well kept, and the staff is very frinedly, always willing to answer questions, guide you on your walk and give you a few trivia questions. more

The facility also offers indoor / outdoor facilities for different events. This is a fantastic way to spend the day. more

Cleveland Botanical Gardens a blast 6/25/2005

The Cleveland Botanical Gardens is one of the best ways to spend a day. For just $7.50 for an adult ticket, there's a diversity of things to explore and do. In the main area, there's a sweltering rainforest-type environment with butterflies, chameleons, and a gigantic tortise roaming free, plus colorful flowers and trees with huge trunks, and a waterfall and stream. Outside, there's a huge Japanese garden with statues and bridges reminiscent of traditional architecture. It's a long, cool walk in the shade. Oftentimes, there are special events such as an orchid show, with gorgeous and rare orchids being displayed and sold. Overall, the Cleveland Botanical Gardens is a blast and makes for excellent photos. more
